Why does modern Art seem schizophrenic Because it is The words schizophrenia mean, split mind it what happens in the schizophrenic mind when it sees insignificant details is the emotional side of the brain starts to light up and and so the rational side comes up with a completely hyper rational explanation for why this thing is significant. in enlightenment thinkers decided something completely bizarre to previous thinkers. To split the mind and that reason would be more important than that which grounds the emotional intuitive side of the mind creating the cultural framework for the split of the mind. Well, fast-forward to the 20th century you have an esoteric gnostic group the Theosophical society, which ultimate goal is to see the spirit unthreaded from the body, fracturing our already hyper-rational minds from our bodies. Many of their members were the first abstract artist. They seek to describe the world of pure spirit and concept separate from the body. Is AI gonna make people stupider? Supposedly , global IQ scores are higher than they have ever been. Yet, it feels like we’ve completely stopped producing real geniuses—Psychologists point to three core types of intelligence: mathematical, linguistic, and spatial. The first two types of intelligences just comes down to how well you can follow the mathematical rules or the linguistic rules modern education almost entirely neglects the third one. Even though a famous, 45-year longitudinal study that tracked thousands of top-performing individuals over decades. The researchers discovered something shocking: the people who went on to make the absolute greatest, most groundbreaking contributions to their fields weren’t the ones with the highest overall IQ. It was the ones who scored the highest in spatial intelligence. The ability to generate images without thinking with AI is going to have catastrophic effects on our spatial intelligence We need to bring back drawing for ordinary people. Look at history. The Victorian geniuses, the iconic architects, engineers, biologists, and even unconnected writers—they were all great draftsmen. They drew constantly. Drawing isn’t just about art. The whole point of abstract art is to shut artists up. Elites don’t want representational art because they don’t want to face reality. Historically, from the Middle Ages through the Renaissance, art was the ultimate tool for voluntary wealth distribution. Through the Virtue of Magnificence and no blush oblige, nobility, obliges . artists guilt-tripped corrupt elites into funding massive public masterpieces. We’re talking about massive amounts of money being manually extracted from the rich and injected right back into the working class—hiring thousands of stonemasons, painters, and craftsmen, building churches hospitals monasteries, food, distribution centers, all while giving beauty to the poor for free. This beautiful reverse pyramid scheme started fading during the Protestant Reformation when the merchant class revolted against this system alms giving. because they wanted to keep their money. Art is dead and we have killed it in the 19th century classical painting was a cultural tour de force. Large scale apocalyptic spectacles like John Martin’s Vesuvius eruption of Mount useto tour the world. ordinary middle class people would travel to go see the Paris salon every year it would be in all the newspapers . an artist might have to flee the country cause they painted something so scandalous like John Singer Sergeant did with his portrait of Madam X. Art is now a shadow of its former self artist no longer holding household name status. Replaced by pop culture. There’s only one small reservation a Loan Artist can still move culture like they did in the past, sequential art. Comics have taken the cultural place of painting. millions gather to go to comicon every year. The great Visionaries of our time are exiled to this art form. History will remember the names. Somewhere across town, there’s a guy who shorter than you less attractive than you and women are lining up to dance with him. Meanwhile, you’re on your phone doom scrolling. That’s why you need to go and get yourself some dancing lessons whether it’s Bachata salsa two step swing or just show up as a complete beginner that is this how people used to socialize back before rock ‘n’ roll? The internet has already decided. Mexicans are the best. The only ones who still haven’t fully claimed it are Mexicans themselves. We have the best food on the planet. The strongest families. The hardest work ethic. And yet we’re too humble about it. Meanwhile, Americans are raised from day one to believe they’re the greatest at everything. Tell an American their country has the most prisoners, the worst homelessness, or the highest medical debt and their brain just rejects the information. Belief comes first. In art, music, business, food, sports—whatever the craft is—you have to believe deep down that you’re the best. That’s the American spirit. And it’s time Mexicans started treating that same belief as fact. There’s no better example of this than Mexico’s World Cup energy. Y si sí. That quiet, stubborn confidence. That refusal to shrink. In Tijuana we don’t whisper it. We say it straight: Le vamos a partir su madre a todos. Not out of arrogance. Out of knowing who we are. The food, the family, the grind, the heart—it’s already there.
