Duncan Sheik was a gentle, beautiful soul who touched us so deeply with his music.

Spring Awakening was a revelation. I saw it Off-Broadway and followed it to Broadway when the theater was only half full. I was overjoyed when the show became the hit of the season and swept the Tonys.

Thank you, Duncan, for your gift that touched my soul and so many others. ❤️ RIP

Andre Holland is mesmerizing in The Actor, Duke Johnson’s magical fable of searching for identity, memory, and fate. The visual design is arresting with a dreamlike quality that in some moments recalls David Lynch but is a singular expression unique to Johnson and his collaborators. I loved Holland in Moonlight and see a vastly different character built on a broader canvas here. Gemma Chan is a perfect romantic foil and the repertory ensemble works together beautifully.
