I hit 1,000 followers, and I want to say thank you.

In the end it’s just a number, but 1,000 was my goal for the whole year, and I’m honestly happy and grateful to be here. But instead of talking about all the cool stuff happening right now — the talented people I keep meeting, or the +800 new followers in the last 4 days — I want to talk about the things that didn’t work.

Last year I put out 3 edits on SoundCloud and YouTube. I sent them to countless DJs and set up download links for all of them. To this day, nobody has downloaded a single one. (The one download? That was me.)

Before Raph Milla, there was Raph. Over the years I released 70+ songs and 2 albums — all written, produced and recorded at home, all me. I’ve chased this since I was 16. Now I’m 25, and it never really took off. Most of those songs still have barely 500 streams. And still, I’m proud of every one.

Last Christmas I published my first book — over 4 years of work, a story I needed to tell. It’s on Amazon now and everywhere. Commercially it flopped, and I even gave copies away, just because I was proud of what I’d made. (An English version is on the way.)

There was more, too. I sold beats under the alias MusikstubeBeats — a bit of success, but never a real breakthrough there either.

What I’m trying to say is: thank you for 1,000. When you really give it everything, things start to come together — sometimes into much more. So don’t let anything get you down, and keep believing in your goals. Maybe next time I’ll share the things that did work. cheers

What is my why?

This is the part I live for. I love bringing creative projects to life, and planning a set like this weeks in advance is pure fun for me — digging out the tracklist, preparing the transitions, running the mix a few times, all of it. I’ve been making music for 9 years and doing something with media for even longer. It’s natural to me, and there’s nothing like seeing the final product and getting to show it to the world.

Since July ‚26 I’ve been posting at least one video every single day on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, building my presence step by step. A lot of you kept asking me: where are the long sets? Well — here it is. It’s been a year.

Social media runs on attention, but attention means nothing if there’s nothing to actually find when you look for Raph Milla — no songs, no sets, no edits, no shows. That’s changing.
This set was one of those steps.
And on October 2nd my first edit, „Love Come Down,“ drops — something I’ve already been busy promoting behind the scenes.

First and foremost I’m doing all of this for myself.
Second, for everyone already supporting me, looking forward to my videos and projects, some of you even reaching out.
And last but not least: with Raph Milla I don’t just want to upload short-form content — I want to build a little world around it. Raph Milla is more than cool mixes or reels.

And this set? That was one of the first steps.

September was the month things finally started to move.
Not because something big happened overnight, but because I stopped waiting and just kept showing up. Here’s what actually changed.

For a long time I held back — worried about what people would think if I really put my music, my face and my process out there. This month I let that go. I decided to show up every day, on every platform, and see what happens if I give it everything.

In one month I posted 383 videos: 280 on Instagram, 54 on TikTok, 49 on YouTube. A lot did nothing, some flopped, a few took off. But posting daily pushed me to get better faster than any month before.

I didn’t just post randomly — I kept testing and optimising until three formats stuck. Daily mixes, to share the music I love. My own edits & songs, with breakdowns of how I actually made them. And about me, so you get to know the person behind the decks, not just the sound.

Then one video did most of the work — 17.9K views and almost 4,000 likes. Just a simple clip with one honest line: “my name is Maxi, and my goal is 1k by the end of the year.” Turns out people don’t skip you when you’re real.

But the numbers aren’t the part I’ll remember. It’s the people I met along the way — from all over the world, helping and hyping each other up. If there’s one lesson from this month: when you really try, you get back more than you’d ever dream. This is just the start. Follow @raphmillamusic for more. by @raphmillamusic
