A quiet moment in the show performing “You Must Love Me” from the musical ‘Evita’. This song was performed by Madonna and won Andrew Lloyd Webber his only Oscar. We performed this live without any click track, it’s an honor to always work with live musicians and a gift to feel it as a collective on stage. You can never beat this feeling. @andrewlloydwebber #fyp #evita #madonna @madonna @raquelmunn by @raquelmunn

There’s a unique stillness that comes over the room when the first notes of ‘Don’t Cry for Me Argentina’ begin — even on a moving ship in the middle of the ocean. 🎶

Written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice for Evita, the song tells the story of Eva Perón — a woman who rose from poverty to the heights of power and left behind a legacy that still stirs hearts today.

Singing her words on the open sea feels like sending them into the wind — a tribute to a life of passion, controversy, and unshakable belief in the people she loved. Performing this piece reminds me why I fell in love with theatre: stories that transcend time, place, and distance. ⚓️🇦🇷 #andrewlloydwebber #madonna #madonnalicious #diamondintherough #GuestEnt @andrewlloydwebber @madonna by @raquelmunn

🖤🎭 40 years of The Phantom of the Opera!

Three years ago, I stood on stage singing All I Ask of You with the lovely @paul.j.baker Paul Baker, never imagining where this journey might lead.

For the longest time, I never thought I had a place in Phantom because I couldn’t see where I would fit. Then, on a whim, I found the courage to audition, and here I am, cast and covering the role of Madame Giry! ✨

On my wonderful opening night in Shanghai, I had the incredible privilege of meeting Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber @andrewlloydwebber himself, sharing the stage with him twice, and welcoming him to our wonderful gala evening. Moments I will treasure forever.

Who would have thought that singing that song three years ago might have been a little manifestation of what was to come? ❤️

I’m still discovering this new universe, but what a journey it’s been! To the most incredible company I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, thank you for making this experience so special.

Happy 40th anniversary, Phantom! 🖤 And to everyone who has ever been part of this extraordinary show, in any production, in any corner of the world, this celebration is for you, too. Thank you for keeping the magic alive across four incredible decades. ✨🎭

Two major musicals that have been captivating audiences across China for years… and I’m incredibly grateful to have been part of both. ✨

As I embark on this new journey with The Phantom of the Opera, I can’t help but feel nostalgic seeing these images from my time in Chicago — especially knowing that both shows are making their debut this year at the beautiful new Chengdu Grand Theatre. 🇨🇳

Two iconic shows. Two very different chapters. And another beautiful one unfolding.

Thank you for the gifts, Universe. ✨
I’m paying attention. ❤️ #phantomoftheopera #POTO #chicago #chicagothemusical by @raquelmunn

THE HARD TRUTH ABOUT SOUTH AFRICAN THEATRE 🎭
Why are so many professional musical theatre performers leaving South Africa?

Because the industry hasn’t kept up.

Theatre salaries have barely changed in over a decade, while the cost of living has continued to rise. Professional performers are expected to maintain years of training, experience, vocal and physical conditioning, and then accept fees that simply aren’t sustainable as a career.

And increasingly, productions are being filled with students and emerging performers, not necessarily because they are the best fit for the role, but because they are more affordable.

This isn’t about taking opportunities away from students. They absolutely deserve opportunities to learn and grow. ❤️

But students cannot replace a sustainable professional industry.

When experienced performers can earn more overseas, and actually build a life from their profession: it’s no surprise that they leave.

South Africa has incredible talent. What we need is an industry that values, employs and pays that talent professionally.

If we want world-class theatre, we need to start treating the people who make it as professionals. 🎭

One of my absolute favourite moments in Madonnalicious 💫

Because it’s not just a finale — it’s a reminder.
That you don’t need everyone to love you.
You don’t need constant success.
You don’t need permission.

When you stop giving power to all of that…
you become unstoppable.

🔥 Express Yourself 🔥

“I learnt to inject my personality into my work”
“I found my confidence”
“It was my dream… and now I believe in myself”
“My friends thought I was crazy — now they wish they had done it”

This is more than a workshop — it’s a shift.
