we all have learned our own definition of love as we’ve grown and evolved throughout our lifetime. feeling either the presence or the absence of it in our lives. in our friends, families, partners, in ourselves, our favorite flowers, foods, memories, in those who have passed, in those who live, and in those we’ve just met but feel as if we’ve known forever. im currently experiencing a love that has made me confront parts of myself i no longer wanted to look. a love that has taught me that shielding myself from getting hurt does nothing but withhold those experiences of love i desire. this piece is about that vulnerability needed to create love with another person, and the playfulness that comes along with it. i always enjoy creating a space where we can be vulnerable enough to feel each other in my sessions. a space where we all get to hear each others stories. thank you again to everyone in this video for sharing that part of themselves with me, i can’t wait for the next one.

i understand it less and less
having to say goodbye to my best friend
something i’ve never experienced before
so it feels as if we didn’t
and that i’ll see you again at cary street gym tomorrow
or go to salsa night at havana next week wednesday
and probably go get food at el chido the next

crying on the subway back to my apartment
i think of the laughs we’ve shared
the memories that we’ve created and that i’ll hold onto forever
i reminisce on the way we’ve grown as people together
and think of how we will continue to grow
but this time apart, in cities that we will learn to call home

and when we catch up years later
as different people who will meet again for the first time
i don’t doubt for a second that the people we were will resurface
and for a moment in time
we will get to experience life in our twenties again

ive watched as thousands of people pass me by
people i will probably never experience in this lifetime
so i’m more than grateful to know that our paths have crossed
that we’ve had the time we were given
the experiences we were gifted
and the love that we continue to share
you’ve had such an impact on my life and i’m so excited for this new chapter in our lives
