Rare Damage
Having the extra resources needed to collect trading cards of any value/condition is a fortunate privilege.

POSTS STORIES REELS

Chicago Collect-a-Con vlog is live on my YT channel - (we are so back btw!)

It feels really good to be back to making videos.

I had initially started uploading videos about a year ago to a channel that I have now rebranded specifically for my art and other art-related content.

^this totally killed all the momentum I was gaining at the time.

Prior to creating a new channel specifically for Pokemon/collecting, I was breaking into the 3k-5k view range and was regularly gaining new subscribers.

It’s been humbling to start fresh from zero once more and I’m hoping with time, my videos can find the correct audience.

Thank you for all the support so far and if you’re interested in following along, the channel link is in my bio🙏

Shiny Corocoro Mew Binder😱✨

I really don’t know why it took me so long to think about painting on binders rather than on canvases😅

I know I’m not the first person to think about doing this, but I really like how this turned out!

As long as the paint holds up well over this test-period, I will definitely paint more! I would like to paint future binders in my own style rather than copying the card art directly like I did with this one (although a Hironobu Yoshida study doesn’t hurt).

To everyone DMing me about a commission: I haven’t really thought that far ahead yet. I’ve never really sold any of my work before.

Please grant me patience as I figure things out on my end and make sure to follow for more updates!🙏

Likes & Re-shares are greatly appreciated❤️

Obligatory introductory post

Andrew here!

I’m interested in finding rare & vintage Pokemon cards! I’m not opposed to HP and damaged cards depending on if it adds to the overall aesthetic of the card.

Just sharing what I pickup and think is cool to justify my spending habits lol

🔥Legendary Treasures Charizard 19/113🔥

This is my personal favorite Charizard card, illustrated by Tokiya!

The blood moon in the background is so brutal! It gives heavy Berserk vibes (I will NEVER forgive you Griffith…)

⬇️Comment down below and let me know what card I should do an art breakdown of next⬇️

Silver Tempest Lugia V - Art Breakdown

I’m a big fan of @kawayoo_no_insta ‘s work and this happens to be one of my favorite modern cards.

Let’s breakdown what makes this piece of art so appealing!

Local Card Show Mini Vlog 10-24-26

Hit up day 2 of a local card show and picked up some cool stuff!

Shoutout @boxboy_ for the card case! Very grateful to upgrade from the green tea tin I was using before😅💀

Local Card Show Mini-Vlog

A while back I tried making a play on some raw cards that didn’t turn out quite as intended, so I drove out to a local show to shuffle them out and into some cards for my PC.

I’ve been a bit burnt out from collecting these days. The market has been so temperamental lately and I’ve taken a few L’s on some speculative purchases.

These days, I’m getting back into collecting what I enjoy without worrying too much about the monetary value.

Don’t skip out on heavier-played cards! There’s a lot of heat that’s waiting for the right person to show them some appreciation!

$Japanese Fossil Haunter 093 This is the exact card that made me realize the potential beauty that damaged cards could have! I was intrigued by how all of the damage was surface level and revealed the silver holo layer beneath without any indentations or anything. It felt so unique and while there are countless Fossil Haunters out there, I guarantee there are ZERO like this one. Damaged cards are true 1-of-1s available at a fraction of the price of NM. If you know me, you’ll know I’m big into the Japanese philosophy of #wabisabi and this card encapsulates that philosophy to a tee! I chose to pair this track with “Danger: Wildman” by @tdwpband from their 2009 album “With Roots Above And Branches Below” which is one of my favorite metalcore albums of all time! I probably listened to this album a trillion times in middle school, so early TDWP is always super nostalgic for me! I’d throw this album on and play some MW2 or Halo 3 on my 360… those really were the good ol’ days🥲 #haunter #thedevilwearsprada #pokemontcgcommunity #rare_dmg by @rare_dmg$

Typhlosion 12/101 - EX Dragon Frontiers

This is another one of my cousin’s cards that I inherited.

I grew up collecting in the Delta Species era, so these cards have a special place in my heart.

I love that card has art that feels very reminiscent of some of the more classic/traditional Japanese art styles.

I paired this card with “Evil Eye” by @mikelikesrap off his 2021 project “Disco!”.

I remember when the homie @awcollects put me onto “Pinball” in 2024 I was immediately captivated by his sound and was stoked to get to see him perform in Chicago the following year.

MIKE is such a fantastic artist that continues to refine and push his style and I’m looking forward to future releases!
