Work, gig, work, gig, sleep, gym, consultation.

Besides my vacations, I don’t really take a break so it felt good to feel good this weekend. Everything was spur of the moment.

Took me 4 business days to bounce back but it was worth it.

Virgin Cruise lines don’t have “photographers” walking around (which I prefer) so we all have to help each other out lol.

This is the typically horrible lighting situation, something I thrive in 😂

You couldn’t access that stairwell for a hot 10 minutes but we got the job done and I airdropped them the photos.

Mission was complete and it was back to partying the night away.

3 years in a row traveling for my birthday. Miami, Virgin Cruise, FLL. A great time, even better company. Learned a lot about myself, stepped out of my comfort zone. What an amazing adventure. 37 what’s good??!!!!!!

“Always” is a strong word lol.

Honestly, I don’t even know if it’s about right or wrong. It’s probably more about communication. 🤷🏽‍♀️

The possibility for misunderstandings and how big they become goes way up once money gets involved. Assumptions, perception, misinformation… all of that starts creeping in.

I’ve had first-time clients get upset over things they simply didn’t know, like the fact that I actually make edits and allow revisions on videos. Idk.

I’ve been buying A LOT of gear. A lens, plus all the little random stuff that comes with this job: cords, attachments, microphones, stands, diffusers, screws… just stuff

I hate spending money on equipment hahaha, but I LOVE stress-free gigs.

MPB, eBay, and Amazon been getting my money recently. The good thing about camera equipment is people usually take care of it, so buying used can be a really good move.

Gear doesn’t determine someone’s skill set but not having the right gear can make a gig very hard.

The same thing I do at work, I do for my clients. And the same thing I do for my clients, I do for myself. 😮‍💨

Two things are certain: procrastination can’t survive over here, and a lot of my time belongs to other people… even when I’m building something for myself.

So I’ve learned to love my alone time. I go to the movies alone, travel alone, hit the arcade alone, go out to eat alone. I genuinely love my solitude, and I love that for me.

I never want to go back to running around solo. 😂😅 I’ll let the young’ns have that.

The last 5 years I’ve really embraced calling it in, MOST of these gigs require a TEAM. An assistant at the very least.

I met @shotbybishop_ a few years back. About 4 years ago I asked him to join me on a gig at THE POST. The 5 hours we spent together were more valuable than any video I could have watched.

The man changed how I film and I edit. Put me up on how to charge people, talked to me about networking, turn around times, gave me custom luts, mannnnn I could go on forever.

He really blessed me and I was hiring him hahaha

I was already good but he made me more polished. Forever grateful.

Moral of the story: Stay humble, keep learning.

There are times when I think the pressure finally got to me. Plenty of times where I thought about selling my equipment but I’m glad I keep finding ways to stay inspired.
