This was the Beyoncé at my house

Music has always been a way for me to connect back to my culture especially since I moved to America when I was soooo young & I just recently went back for the first time in over 10 years

Fuji is the one genre apart from Gospel music, that I grew up hearing. Rediscovering/ relistening as an adult, I finally understand why my parents, aunts, uncles, tbh anyone significantly older than me felt so passionately about Fuji, like I get ittt😭

Fuji is not only Yoruba, it’s spiritual, it’s Faaji (which means enjoyment, but it’s also a genre of music). It was so important for its time because it was the one thing many Nigerians could agree upon. Personally Fuji to me is yorubas version of fly rap

This song is more Apala than Fuji, but still reigned platinum in my house

All of the different sub genres like Apala, Fuji,Were, afrobeats, Yoruba folk are all inspired by genre Faaji.

Which came about in like 1920s-1930s, they all sounded the same to me at first but I think i can hear the differences now

It’s so cool to see Fuji reimagined in Nigeria’s underground music scene. There’s an upcoming genre called “Yoruba Trap” which is pretty Fuji being sampled and put on 808s

we found a bench at Clark park, we sat, we played music & recorded 🤲🏾

This mix gives me end of summer vibes, very ethereal, very affirming, and honestly it’s what I listen to when I’m not mixing at a high ass bpm

As for le shots, my camcorder became my personal archive of myself and all the homies I’ve come across (most especially traveling) so I selected some cute moments for harry to add to the final edit.

this has to be one of my favorite sets/gigs to date & not having a lot of videos is a testament to how in the moment we all were and enjoying le musiccccc

En esta tirada de ARXHIVO os traemos un b2b de Rasasavda y Flusso; y es que esta dupla quiere evidenciar que la musica electrónica es originariamente negra y queer. Su colaboración sostenida con Xulo Market muestra una clara intención de introducir sonidos aún poco explorados en la vibrante escena local, y expandir los límites de género musical.

@rasasavda , DJ originaria de Lagos, recoge las múltiples influencias que han marcado su recorrido entre Nigeria, Filadelfia y, actualmente, Madrid, donde reside de forma temporal.
