POSTS STORIES REELS
In the mystical kingdom of Madra, a curse looms, haunting its people like a relentless shadow. The ancient Sages of Madra perform solemn rituals, shielding the realm from the curse’s malevolent grip and the eerie Shadow Monsters lurking in the enchanted woods. But these rituals exact a heavy toll, demanding sacrifices from both sage and people of Madra. Princess Savi, haunted by a prophecy, is determined to unearth a cure. She vows to liberate her beloved kingdom from this age-old torment. Meanwhile, Sathya, a skilled healer from Sage Vyasa’s secluded hermitage, embarks on a quest to uncover the truth behind his missing father’s mysterious past. As he unravels his father’s secrets, he stumbles upon a chilling prophecy, igniting a plan to reclaim what is rightfully his. In an unexpected twist of fate, Savi and Sathya find themselves bound in an unwanted union. Yet, as darkness descends in the form of the relentless Shadow Monsters and a deadly plague, the kingdom of Madra teeters on the brink of despair. Together, they must harness their intertwined destinies, decode the enigmatic prophecy, and unearth a cure before doom becomes inevitable. Will their determination and newfound alliance be enough to free Madra from the curse’s clutches, or will destiny’s inexorable grip prove insurmountable? QOTD - Do you read books by BIPOC authors? The Shadows of Fate is my current WIP. It tells the story of 3 magical kingdoms trapped by an enchanted forest and its monsters, the sages who make extreme sacrifices to protect their people, a warrior Princess from one of the three kingdoms, an exiled prince, a prophecy that binds them together, and a prince of darkness controlling all their fates. The story is based on an ancient Indian legend. The Stardust Grail by Yume Kitasei was everything I was hoping it would be. It’s a wonderful sci-fi interstellar adventure with a heist at its core. The story follows art thief turned grad student, Maya Hashimoto, who is hiding at the grad after a heist goes very wrong! Despite hiding from her past, Maya cannot help it when she is roped in for “one last mission”— one that has the potential to save a dying alien race.              Maya’s travels through the different locations in search of the Stardust Grail in an endeavor to save the alien species makes for the crux of the story. While this is mostly a heist novel, political influences, questions of morality and even moments of utter horror make its appearance known throughout the story, but there is an optimism and a genuine sense of wonder that prevent the story from becoming overly depressing.   The cast of characters are authentic, well-rounded, and quirky at times. The pacing is impeccable, driving the narrative forward without ever feeling rushed. Yume Kitasei provided the readers with an immersive world including well-crafted and meticulous cultural and historical details of the universe.   The narration by Katherine Chin was on par with the book itself, adding color to the characters. The excellent narration makes you feel like you’re part of this universe.   Overall, this was an exciting book and the audiobook made the experience even better. I highly recommend for those who enjoy space operas and speculative fiction. 5/5 stars from me!   Thank you to Macmillan audio for the audiobook arc of this book. #macmillanaudio #bookreview #audiobooks #audiobookreview #bookishpost #booklover #scifi #fantasybooks by @rashmipmauthor
Enchanted Skies By @donnawhiteauthor @astrid.v.j_author_official @rashmipmauthor @sommers_sky @ayakashi_fox @elenashelestwriter @authorashleyanne @susanstradiotto_author This is a Wonderful Collection of Stories!! by @rashmipmauthor
🕌Four Eids and a Funeral is my first book from Faridah Abike Iyimide and Adina Jaigirdar. I love finding and reading books by BIPOC Authors, so I jumped at the opportunity to listen to the audiobook. Thank you @macmillan.audio for the audiobook arc! 💖This YA romcom is about ex-best friends, Tiwa and Said, who are forced to work together to save their Islamic Center from demolition while self-reflecting on their friendship and fallout. This is a true romantic comedy that includes some of my favorite tropes in the romance genre: Former Friends turned Enemies to Lovers and Second Chance! 🕌When Said returns home to attend the funeral of his favorite librarian, he finds it impossible to avoid bumping into Tiwa. While, Tiwa has no idea what made Said ignore her, she blames his fancy boarding school. Determined to stay away from each other, Tiwa and Said are shocked to learn about the upcoming demolition of their Islamic center, and that they have no other choice but work together if they wish to successfully save the Islamic Center. During this time they are forced to unearth the reason behind their fallout, figure out the nature of their relationship and if they truly hate each other or not. The story is told from the dual POVs of both Said and Tiwa as they navigate the monumental changes that shaped their lives. Misunderstandings, comedic banter, romantic tension, and a moving sense of community mold this into a richly heartfelt and swoon worthy romance. 🎙️The narrators have done a fantastic job and I really loved that they used separate narrators for Tiwa and Said, and a different narrator for the 3rd person POV chapters. It really brought both characters to life, making it easier to engage with the story and the characters. 💖Overall this was a fun and enjoyable read. I highly recommend for lovers of YA books with elements of coming-of-age story, romantic comedy, blending important elements of race, culture and self-discovery. 4.5 ❤️s ⁉️QOTD - Do you have a local library or community center you love? #macmillanaudio #booksofinstagram #bookaddict #bookishpost #bookworm #bookhoarder #instabooks #bookwormsunite #bookloversofinstagram #readingallthetime by @rashmipmauthor

I was drawn to If Something Happens to Me by the blurb, which was fascinating. I love fast paced thrillers with the characters traveling to places, especially those that involve the missing people & the mystery surrounding their disappearance. Ryan Richardson lost his girlfriend, Ali, to an abduction 5 years ago. He has no idea what happened to her, but he can still hear her screams from that night. Though Ryan was not charged for anything (thanks to his good lawyer), the incident haunts him every day in the form of trolls and podcasters who blame his for Ali’s disappearance. Unable to take it anymore, Ryan changes his name and changes colleges going to law school. The investigation into Ali’s disappearance picks up heat again when her car is found at the bottom of a lake with two dead men and a cryptic note but without Ali. The note sealed in a plastic bag only has the words “If Something Happens to Me...” in Ali’s handwriting, adding more mystery to the entire situation. Poppy McGee is a Sheriff’s Deputy assigned to the case. It’s her first case and she has to get it right. Shane O’Leary is a hitman from PA who also has some connection to this case. How all of them tie together in Ali’s disappearance forms the crux of the story. This was my first read from Alex Finlay. I enjoyed the book & am open to reading more from him. The plot is entertaining with assassins & worldwide chases. I truly enjoyed the multi-cast narration by Helen Laser, John Pirhalla, & Paul Dateh. It was done well & kept me listening. I found the author’s efforts to make Poppy McGee “not like other girls” character & the constant judging of “woke” culture a little annoying. Both seemed unnecessary in my opinion. Overall, this was a fast paced, mystery thriller. I guessed the twist pretty early on, but that didn’t spoil the fun for me. I recommend this one to those who enjoy books with assassins, mystery & plots set in different parts of the world. Thanks to @MacMillan.Audio for the ARC of the audiobook. Views expressed are my own. My Rating - 3.5❤️ ⁉️QOTD - What makes or breaks a book for you? #macaudio2024 #bookreview #audiobook #bookstagram #bookishpost #mysterythriller by @rashmipmauthor
