It was a pleasure meeting Mr. Vikalp Gupta, Commercial Head - Water & Environment at the Embassy of Denmark in India, last week in Bengaluru.

We had a wonderful conversation on water and environment related projects. 😊 He was happy to hear about our work in Bengaluru, particularly in the field of road safety and sustainable urban mobility.

I’ve always wanted to be in public service. In my 20s, I was preparing for the UPSC with the dream of becoming an IPS officer. Somewhere along the way, I realised that being a full-time bureaucrat wasn’t the path for me. But the desire to serve never left.

So, I found my own ways to contribute to public service through the work I do.

Today, getting interviewed for the Traffic Warden position has made the child in me incredibly happy. It feels like I’m finally getting a chance to live a little part of that old dream.

Yesterday, two Drivonauts cleared their Driving Licence tests on their own, after rigorous track practice and consistent preparation. 🚗💪

They were road-ready weeks ago - prepared to handle city and highway roads, different traffic conditions, and the challenges that come with real-world driving.

We’re incredibly proud of them for putting in the effort and earning their licences the right way.

And when teenagers achieve this level of readiness, it makes us even happier. They’re young, but they’ve already shown the responsibility and discipline needed to be safe drivers. This army of responsible drivers is only going to grow. ❤️

Congratulations, Drivonauts! Ride safe, drive safe, and stay safe on Indian roads. 🇮🇳

Last week, we trained 50+ BMTC drivers at the Vaddarahalli Training Centre on defensive driving and safe driver behaviour. 🚌

One thing stood out - drivers themselves have a lot to say about what makes safe driving challenging on the road.

Here are three concerns they brought up:

1️⃣ Fatigue matters.
Overtime duties and extended working hours can leave drivers physically and mentally fatigued. A well-rested driver is a safer driver.

2️⃣ Safety should never race against the clock.
Strict trip schedules can sometimes put pressure on drivers to reach destinations faster. Operational efficiency is important, but road safety must always remain the priority.

3️⃣ Electric buses need specialised, continuous driver training.
As Bengaluru’s electric bus fleet grows, drivers operating these services - especially through private operators - need strong induction and continuous training in defensive driving and safe road behaviour.

When unsafe behaviour is observed in one part of the system, it can sometimes affect the public perception of the entire BMTC fleet. The many responsible and hardworking BMTC drivers should not be judged because of the actions of a few.

These conversations are not about finding fault. They are about finding solutions.

Our public transport drivers carry thousands of lives every day. Investing in their training, wellbeing and working conditions is an investment in the safety of every person on Bengaluru’s roads.

We appreciate BMTC and the concerned authorities for creating spaces where these conversations can happen.

Our Drivonauts are clearing their Driving License tests on their own, with confidence and rigorous preparation. 🚗🏍️

Here are the test results of our students who practiced extensively on our RTO-simulated track and went on to clear their DL tests.

They didn’t just pass a test - they earned their Right to Drive with the skills and readiness to handle different types of roads and real-world traffic.

We’re not just talking about driving. We’re talking about everything under the sun - roads, rules, society, civic sense, behaviour, politics, everyday choices… basically, the things we conveniently ignore.

What do we need to unlearn?
What should we learn?
