This is the one that made me realize I like cozy horror. Or rather, cozy -> horror because it started off so calm and cozy before introducing more and more unease and respect for nature (because if you don't ...), and then ending with one big bang, namely, what happens if you refuse to learn. You're not gonna win fights against dirt, lady.

I remember wanting to read this after my exams, as a little treat, before I lost all self control and just finished it in 2 days (and 1 night, what is sleep?)

It was funny, emotional, educating, and I remember disliking the grandma (which was very much deserved but also a first). Those two deserve a hug, and some other people deserve to be grabbed at the shoulders and shaken.

Haven't worked on it in a month and got the thread entangled immediately after picking it back up. Fun!
It's maybe halfway done at this point after working on the second leg, with the second part not attached yet. Qifrey is still missing his shirt, too, but I dread filling it in, my stitches are NOT clean at all 🥲

(this might be my fifth time rewatching Gachiakuta because I can't find a replacement)

Alternative book title: "Celebrity family refuses therapy, makes it everyone else's problem - are we doomed?"

The first slide is actually a lie, the hero being a (technically capable) idiot who basically tries to open doors with his face is enough to sell me. Thank you for letting me watch your idiot son, it's been an honor 🫡 And for hurting me the way that you did...

(adult science-fantasy thriller, supernatural mystery, family drama, adventure, conspiracies. God knows if instagram operates with hashtags or just buzzwords nowadays. It's a book, a very good book, a very good *painful* book, and I have many opinions about it, but I might as well just hide random animal facts down here while I'm at it: pea crabs are the smallest species of crabs & they're pea-sized, which means someone was very creative with their naming choices) by @ratswiththreads

Sitting here at 0:30 in the basement during a heatwave to regain some sanity.
Immediately losing gained sanity over this horse, because I have progress pictures and still no sense of progress 😮‍💨

(Turns out Gachiakuta is bad for background entertainment because I like the artstyle too much and just stare at it instead of working)

Can't believe I forgot to include Alligator-man...

If I had to describe this book weirdly, it would be "Local man holds grudge over medical malpractice, decides to call man famous for committing biggest violation of environmental protection laws."

(This photo was the best thing I had to match the Scar of Luce, though it's actually Hverarönd in Iceland, an active geothermal area that smells like sulfur/rotten eggs and leaving the marked paths means breaking through the ground to bathe in boiling mud. Fun!
I'm also still trying to figure out how layouts and colors work without burning everyone's eyes, bear with me as I learn) by @ratswiththreads

I ran to get this comic as soon as I saw the art during one of the LumiCon panels by @lumibug.llc 😌The vibes of 'Crossroads' remind me a lot of playing Call of Cthulhu/Delta Green (including the small, mandatory mental breakdown) by @ratswiththreads

I got to read & review the first volume of “Luca the Dragon Vet” thanks to @netgalley and @kodanshamanga, and now I finally know the pain of becoming a fan before the fandom even exists, instead of being late to the party.

Since I already wrote and submitted my too-long review, I wanted to try something else: the unhinged way I normally use to pitch stories to my friends. It’s also a lot more fun than putting together entire paragraphs.

(And since my embroidery isn’t finished yet and I unfortunately never took a photograph of an actual dragon, I figured that turtles from Munich’s botanical garden were the next best option – they’re basically small dragons with less wings and more teeth) by @ratswiththreads

It's not visible, but hair is still the endboss. So many tiny stitches that were barely visible on the print. The face turned out quite pointy too :')
If there's anything I learned from this one, it's how to choose easier motives 😅

Sticking the solvy onto the fabric feels a lot like putting a protection screen on a phone: can't hold it anywhere without getting it stuck on your fingers & lots of praying that it doesn't crease

But it's so nice to finally have some clean lines to follow instead of whatever the hell I'm doing with a pen and enough desperation :') Told myself I'd pick an easy, small motive to try it out and yeah, that plan went out the window fast ...

(it may or may not be from witch hat atelier volume 5. It may or may not be a really cool spell that is huge and pretty and how do you even come up with this?)

Slowly making my way towards the scary parts. I somehow ended up doing a lot of couching because I tell myself that it helps with angles.

Satin stitches are a bit of a nightmare because I either don't cover the space well enough or they end up being too close together, but I only ever see people using a lot more strands than I do 🤔

And that hand was... Something. For the parts where tracing didn't work I'm trying to figure it out while ignoring the sketch but using a black pen wasn't the best idea, it all blurs together in my mind. Really hope that once the ink is gone there won't be a ton of holes suddenly, just because I thought I've stitched there 😅
