$It’s absolutely wild how life can go from full-throttle living to a complete, unexpected standstill in the blink of an eye—all because of someone else’s careless mistake. One moment, you’re living life on your own terms, embracing every adventure, chasing every thrill, and enjoying the freedom of it all. The next, life throws you a curveball so massive that everything changes in an instant. Six weeks ago, my world was turned upside down. In a split second, my life took a drastically different path, one I never could have anticipated. But through it all, I know without a shadow of a doubt that a higher power was watching over me. By the grace and protection of something far greater than myself, I walked away from an accident that could have had a much different ending—with a broken clavicle, six fractured ribs, a severely sprained ankle, and whiplash so intense that at times my neck feels like it’s barely holding together. Three weeks after the accident, I underwent surgery, adding yet another chapter to this unexpected journey of pain, perseverance, healing, and resilience. It hasn’t been easy, and recovery has certainly tested me in ways I never imagined. But if there’s one thing this experience has taught me, it’s just how fragile life can be, how quickly everything can change, and how incredibly blessed we are when we’re given the opportunity to keep moving forward. I am beyond grateful to the incredible team in Durango who helped me through those initial moments, as well as the amazing medical team here in Albuquerque who have continued to care for me throughout this journey. Your knowledge, compassion, and dedication have meant more than words could ever express. But above all, I am profoundly grateful for the people who showed up for me when life brought me to a screeching halt. The calls, the messages, the check-ins, the encouragement, the love, and the countless ways you’ve reminded me that I’m not walking this road alone have meant absolutely everything. You have helped carry me through some incredibly difficult days, and I will never take that kind of love and support for granted. Here’s to getting back on that bike and riding again!! by @raven_lass$
