3 weeks ago my Dr. told me I have a bakers cyst in my knee and a slight tear in my meniscus. Before that I had other injuries and hadn’t been able to REALLY dance like I’ve wanted. He also told me to keep moving (with limitations) as much as I can through this process. So here I am trying to keep up in @austnedwards dope class. Huge thank you to SFX and everyone in class for the support. Reminder: Don’t take healthy bodies for granted! taken in Studio Fx Dance & Performing Arts by @ravhunter

Our Teen & Senior dancers spent the last two days working with guest choreographer @ravhunter on their Hip Hop Line for this competition season: Fight Night! 🔥

We are so grateful to have had Raven in the studio sharing her talent, creativity, and incredible energy with our dancers. She brought a fresh perspective, pushed them in new ways, and created a piece that we are SO excited about!

Bringing guest choreographers into the studio gives our dancers the opportunity to experience new movement, styles, and approaches to choreography, and Raven brought exactly that over these last two days. 🖤

A huge THANK YOU to Raven for pouring so much into our dancers and this piece! We absolutely loved having you at MIDC and cannot wait to see your choreography come to life on the competition stage this season! 🔥 taken in Mirror Image Dance Company by @ravhunter

When Kobe died it caused a major shift in this world. Add a global pandemic, civil/human rights movements and incompetent leadership to the mix. . . . what a perfect recipe for self reflection.
I’ve really been channeling the Mamba Mentality lately and I challenge you to do the same.
Happy Birthday Kobe! 🎉Thank you for challenging everyone to be better. 💜💛 by @ravhunter

I choreographed this piece in 2017 & entitled it #WEMATTER. I had the dancers wear black hoodies, and tape over their mouths until it was their time to NOT BE SILENT ANYMORE.
The dancers expressed possibly not being able to breathe during the routine due to the tape. . . I then shared stories of all of the injustices going on in the world and how “I CANT BREATHE” is so much more than a dancer complaint.
I told them that I don’t want “competition glitz/glam, perfect arms and facials. I wanted REAL EMOTIONS and for them to express their anger and how this makes them feel.
Competing this routine in the dance circuits we were doing was VERY RISKY and not “dance competition material” but we chose to dance for those who can’t and make a statement. This routine did just that and it’s sad how relevant it is today.
I don’t normally share my “political” views on social media but I’m so tired and so angry. You should be too. #wematter #icantbreathe #staywoke *I do not own the rights to this song* by @ravhunter

Happy International Dance Day! I could NEVER imagine my life without dance in some way, shape or form and I’m beyond thankful for the lessons/discipline it’s taught me and for all of the friendships (world wide) it’s given me. S/o to my @officialhhi fam, I’m going to miss you all this year.

Since you do a “glow up” slide show for my birthday every year, I figured it was my turn! 🤣
HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY @dancingkira 🎉 Man time flies when you’re dancing through life. I’ve been fortunate enough to know you a little more than half your life and I’m BEYOND PROUD of seeing the amazing human you have/are becoming. We’ve been through a lot together and I couldn’t ask for a better Syncopated Sister/student/mentee/apprentice/assistant/friend/little sister. Love you P.I.C ❤️ #twirlonthemhaters #sweet16 #shakira #KY-RA by @ravhunter
