Books that did nothing for me. 📚
Of course I’ve read more disappointing books - but these were the most hyped, highly reviewed, and talked-about ones… and still, they just weren’t for me.
I don’t pick books randomly. I research, read reviews, and usually know what I’ll enjoy. I even give chances to books with mixed ratings if the subject interests me - and I’m rarely 50/50. I usually either love a book or I don’t.
But when a book has incredible reviews, huge buzz, and shows up in every celebrity book club… my expectations go way up. And honestly? So many times I felt let down. The book just didn’t deliver what it promised.
That’s why I’m starting this series:
“It’s not you, it’s me.” ✨
Also, I run a very positive space here on Instagram. When I recommend books I truly love - I share them in my “Books and Rosé” channel here on IG. I almost never talk about the ones that didn’t work for me. This is just a different perspective.

Hi #booklovers!

I’m always sharing beautiful book photography here at @raw_books_, but I want to take it further—beyond the visuals, into the words.

A few months ago, I started posting book recommendations from followers in stories. Now, I’d love to include written book reviews once or twice a week!

If you’ve read a book you’d love to recommend, send me a photo + a short review in DMs. I’ll feature it on the page so everyone can discover their next great read!

Let’s build a space where book lovers inspire book lovers. Can’t wait to see your recommendations!

Hello, #bookloversofinstagram !

I see so many new faces here, so let me introduce myself—I’m Ewa (@thecozynortheast ), the heart behind @raw_books_, a part of @raw_kingdom.

I’m a passionate reader, drawn to historical fiction, mysteries, and biographies. Right now, I’m deep into Elon Musk by Walter Isaacson—such a brilliant author!

Beyond this page, I also run a book channel on my personal account (@maurice_backbay), where I share and recommend the books I’ve read. I want this space to be more than just a collection of book recs—I want it to be a community. A place where we share, discuss, and celebrate the stories that move us.

So, let’s make it interactive! Tag your favorite books, and I’ll feature them here. Let’s turn our love of books into a shared experience. Stay, follow, and let’s build something special together! by @raw_books_
