Rawane Hachem is a multidisciplinary artist and special effects makeup artist whose work explores the relationship between texture, colour, form, and material. With a background in painting, sculpting, and practical effects, her practice moves between fine art, craftsmanship, and functional objects, bringing an experimental approach to the things we see, touch, and use every day.

Through a process of exploration and material experimentation, Rawane creates pieces that blur the boundaries between art and everyday life. Working with a variety of techniques and materials, each creation is an opportunity to transform familiar forms into something unexpected, tactile, and distinctive.

Rooted in a world of imagination, transformation, and hands-on making, her work extends beyond a single medium or discipline. Each collection explores a different idea, colour palette, texture, or form, allowing her practice to evolve continuously while maintaining a recognisable artistic language.

This space brings together her creations across different collections, celebrating the beauty of experimentation, the individuality of handmade work, and the possibility of finding art in the everyday.

There are many ways to create fake glass or shattered ice for film and photography. For this specific shoot, I decided to make mine using resin.

It gave me the look, transparency, and shape I wanted, while being safe for the actors to be around and handle.

The method always depends on what the scene requires — this was the right choice for this one. 🎬

What happens when nothing appears to move?

This serie explores a society living in “standing water” — a world where movement, stimulation and change have gradually come to a halt.

For the past 9 months i imagined what happens when a society remains suspended for too long. Instead of remaining empty, the stillness begins to create something of its own: a new ecosystem that continues to evolve underneath an unmoving surface.

The idea is that stagnation does not necessarily mean that nothing is happening. When external movement stops, internal evolution can continue. Something begins to accumulate, adapt, mutate, and grow.
