The first theme of our 7th edition invites you to showcase how you relay your relationship to the natural world through image-making.

Raw Files Magazine is a student-led photography magazine created by @ubcphotosoc in Vancouver.

All UBC students are encouraged to submit their photos accompanied by a written piece. All submissions will be reviewed and considered for publication.

Rawfiles is back!

UBC Photographic Society’s student-run magazine is returning this year for our 7th edition. We serve as a space for UBC’s community to share their photography in a print medium, which is celebrated in our Launch Party in April.

This year’s themes and submissions open in October. Keep an eye out for updates, and submit for the opportunity to get published!

@fantarecords & Rawfiles Magazine present Down to Brass Tacks. Rawfiles photographers are invited to submit one photo and caption inspired by the prompt below:

An idiom born of mercantile necessity, when drapers hammered down their wares using brass tacks to measure their wares for buyers with exactitude. It is a call to focus on the matter at hand. To keep it simple: an exchange of goods or ideas; a deliberation or transaction with no fluff or padding. Deeper still, the brass tacks delineate the boundaries of what is important from that which is not, from what is substantial and measurable from that which is surplus and formless. A walling of the truth, maybe, from untruth. We push the tacks in and stretch the fabric to ensure we can capture the whole image and leave no folds to hide in. What piece or truth will you stretch to measure? What lives inside the space the tacks surround?
