world cyanotype day wip, an experiment printing on vellum with stained glass, copper, and silver. this surface is much more delicate than traditional paper, wrinkling as the solution is rinsed and the paper dries. its translucency creates a really interesting effect when the light passes through, lifting the prussian blue color into something lighter. I’m still meditating on what this panel will become but for now I’m admiring her as she is 🐑🌀 by @rawhoneylover

Fascia, the crystalline spider web covering our entire bodies, the channel through which qi moves from the crown of our heads to the tips of our toes . Connective tissue in which our memories our encoded in physical space , the place in our body that “keeps the score.” After a particularly good stretch or acupuncture session I find myself crying cleansing tears that feel like wringing the towel of my body and spirit. Because of this magical part of us. Thank you ancient medicine for starting the party thousands of years ago, the party modern science is just now showing up to. Thank you body for always knowing. Reality is more awe inspiring than our thinking brains could ever imagine.

Meet Our 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 Workshop Instructor Inés Hernández

Inés Hernández (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist and jeweler based between New York City and northern Spain. Inés works with metal, silver clay, printmaking, and glass soldering to create reliquaries, objects, and sculptures exploring the dreamlike, the cyclical, and the surreal. At her workbench and moving through the world, Inés’s practice joins disciplined material study with play, intuitive looking, and dreamlife exploration.

Enshrined

Transform visual art you love into wearable pieces. Working with collage cut-outs, glass, and lead-free solder, you’ll create one-of-a-kind metal reliquary adornments or wall hangings that encase found imagery. You’ll learn how to measure artwork to fit flat glass panels, design a layout, apply copper tape and flux, and safely use a soldering iron. The class also introduces essential jewelry-making techniques using tools such as pliers, jump rings, and clasps.

You’ll leave with a unique metal collage jewelry piece or wall hanging. No prior experience is required—this beginner-friendly experience is ideal for anyone curious about metalwork or interested in alternative approaches to jewelry-making.

All materials will be provided:
• Magazines for sourcing imagery
• X-Acto knives
• Flat glass panels in assorted sizes
• Soldering irons and brass sponges
• Copper tape
• Lead-free flux and solder
• Heat protection for hands and fingers
• Masks for metal fumes
• Chains, jump rings, pliers, and clasps
