Trust me…..Challenges are going to come. That part of life isn’t optional.

But what happens next is up to you.

A challenge can define you, it can convince you that you’re not capable, give you an excuse to quit, or become the story you keep telling yourself about why you couldn’t succeed.

Or it can shape you.

It can make you stronger. More disciplined. More patient. More prepared. It can expose weaknesses you needed to see and force growth you never would have chosen on your own.

Looking back, some of the biggest challenges in my life and business weren’t roadblocks at all. They were lessons. They were preparation for what was coming next.

You don’t always get to choose the challenge.

But you absolutely get to choose what you become because of it.

Sunday…..

EWN ➝ CLT ➝ DFW ➝ MEI ➝ RDU ➝ KMRH… all in a single day.

Long day, a lot of miles, changing weather, busy airspace, and plenty of lessons along the way.

One of the things I enjoy most about aviation is that every flight teaches you something. No matter how many hours you have, there’s always an opportunity to become a better pilot.

A huge thank you to my buddy @randall_funston for making the trip with me and lending a hand along the way. Having another experienced pilot in the right seat makes long cross-country days a lot more enjoyable. by @rawlings_barnes

Everyone wants the highlight reel. Nobody talks about the 11pm. 🌙

What you see: launches, wins, "we hit a new milestone."

What you don't see:
— The nights answering emails after everyone's asleep
— The weekends that didn't feel like weekends
— Making payroll before you paid yourself
— Carrying decisions alone, because there's no one above you to ask

From the outside, entrepreneurship looks like freedom.
From the inside, it's the most demanding job you'll ever love.

But here's the truth: the grind isn't the price of success. The grind IS the work. It's where the skill gets built and the business quietly becomes real.

If you're in the unglamorous part right now — tired, unsure, still showing up — you're not behind. You're exactly where it's supposed to be hard.

The ones who make it aren't the most talented. They're the ones still standing when it stops being exciting. 🔥

One of the things I love most about flying is the perspective.

From the ground, all you see are obstacles, traffic, deadlines, and distractions. But when you climb a few thousand feet, everything changes. The roads that seemed crowded become tiny lines. The problems that felt overwhelming suddenly don’t look quite so big.

There are views you can only see from above.

Life is the same way. Sometimes the answer isn’t working harder. Sometimes it’s gaining perspective. Stepping back. Looking at the bigger picture. Remembering where you’ve been, where you’re headed, and how far you’ve already come.

Keep climbing.

Tonight is a special night.

Landon #2 😂 graduates high school, and I couldn't be more proud of the young man he has become.

Over the years, I've had the privilege of watching him grow into someone who is truly his own person. If there's a new fashion trend, Landon probably knew about it before the rest of us. If there's a game to master, chances are he already has. And if you need a coffee recommendation, well, working at Starbucks has made him the family expert.

Landon has always done things his own way, and honestly, that's one of the things I admire most about him.

Behind the style, the gaming, and the coffee knowledge is a young man with the biggest heart, a strong work ethic, and a very bright future ahead of him in the medical field.

I'm thankful that God gave me the opportunity to be a small part of his life 🙏🏻

Tonight we celebrate a diploma, but more importantly, we celebrate the person he has become and the man he's continuing to grow into.

This week always makes me think of my dad.

The @bigrocktournament isn't just a fishing tournament around here—it's part of who we are. The stories, the boats, the anticipation of hearing @rramseyjbbw on the radio, and watching the leaderboard to see which local crews are making a run at history.

My dad loved every bit of it.

He loved fishing. He loved the water. And most of all, he loved building boats. He understood that every boat had a story, and every crew chasing a blue marlin carried a dream when they left the dock.

Looking at this picture today, a Coors Light (if you knew my dad you understand), and a recipe book with all of dad's favorites sitting beside his urn—I can't help but think about how much he would have enjoyed this week. He'd be talking about the boats (and of course who's was the fastest), the conditions, who's catching fish, and which hometown teams were climbing the leaderboard.

I miss those conversations, those calls throughout the week.

But I smile knowing that somewhere, he's probably keeping up with the tournament, admiring the craftsmanship of the boats, and cheering for the local boys just like he always did.

Here's to the fishermen, the boat builders, the dreamers, and the legends who helped make this community what it is. I am who I am today because of the lessons I learned on the dock, in the boathouse, and of course at the helm beside my dad.
