The first commandment isn’t about statues or ancient pagan gods.

It’s about what sits on the throne of your life.

A lot of people today aren’t bowing to idols made of stone, they’re getting on their hands and knees for money, status, attention, pleasure, relationships, comfort, or even themselves.

If losing it would shatter your identity, it’s probably an idol.

Career. Women. Approval. Followers. Control. Comfort.

None of those things are evil on their own but when they start dictating your decisions, your values, and your sense of worth is when they become a problem.

First commandment is telling us not to replace the Creator with the things He created.

What’s actually running your life?

One of my biggest pet peeves is when people tell me they’re tired or too lazy:

There is nothing more selfish than taking your perfect health and conditions for granted when there are people who are in hospitals fighting just to breathe on their own or people who are paraplegic and would give anything to take a single step.

You have working legs.
You have functioning lungs.
You have a heart that beats without assistance.

Stop wasting what someone else is praying for.

Train hard.
Be grateful.
Stop acting like tomorrow is guaranteed.

November 2 is All Souls Day where Christians are called to prayer and remembrance for the faithful who have departed.

@liam_fitzgerald_ was a young, healthy, successful man. The last person you’d expect to see go. The fitness community has lost a good one and we should all be praying for him.

Live every day like tomorrow is not promised, because it’s not.

God bless.

Resting 3–5 minutes between sets is important primarily to replenish cellular energy (ATP and phosphocreatine) and allow your central nervous system to recover, enabling you to maintain peak force output and volume across heavy working sets.

Summary: muscle growth = max output, and you can’t do that when you’re gassed out hitting b2b sets.

Will you become who God has destined you to be?

You say you love God with your lips, but do your actions say the same?

Give it all to God and see just how far he’ll take you. Start with the first thing, then everything else.

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Matthew 22:37

Notice how I didn’t stop once I hit a certain number or rep range.

Your body does not understand, reps, sets, or weight.

It only understands STIMULUS. Translation: pick up some heavy weight and move it until you can’t anymore.

If 80–90% of your sets don’t look like this, good luck growing.
