It’s with an incredibly heavy heart that we announce that our beloved corgi superdog, Ein, tragically passed away on Monday morning, May 11th. He was 11 years old and unexpectedly died after acute liver failure despite 16 hours of round-the-clock treatment and no serious prior conditions. In the end, treatment could only keep him comfortable during his final moments. @gahleasyz spent most of Mother’s Day sleeping on an ER ICU floor trying to understand what had caused all of this. We may never know. Seemingly simple stomach issues quickly became our worst nightmare. Anyone who knows us knows how deeply loved Ein was. He marked the beginning of one of the most important chapters of our lives when we first moved in together, and he became part of every big moment too. He was literally our wedding logo and also became ambassador for SF Corgi Con and Netflix’s live-action Cowboy Bebop series — the show he got his name from — inspiring over 150,000 fans to sign a petition for a second season. Ein pushed us toward more outdoor adventures, many of which became core memories for our kids. During the dark pandemic days, there was Ein every morning in the same spot, smiling and reminding us life would eventually get better. He brought joy everywhere he went. Friends, coworkers, and loved ones became his second family, loving and caring for him whenever we were away. We already miss his “announcements” whenever someone came to the door and his nightly kitchen clean-up duties whenever crumbs hit the floor. Ein truly belonged with us. He WAS family. Our first “child.” Even in his final minute of life, Ein was still smiling. The day after he passed, we prayed beside St. Joachim’s Church. Right after the prayer, we heard barking nearby but couldn’t find a dog anywhere. We think we know what it meant. Ein had finished his journey across the rainbow bridge and into the light. Thank you, Ein, for teaching us to: • Be present • Practice gratitude • Forgive • Be loyal and trustworthy • Accept yourself • Love unconditionally Thank you Judy for allowing us to give Ein the best life we could. We only wish we had one more adventure together. See you, Space Cowboy. by @rayalmeda

Last Friday was my LAST DAY at @ea and @easportsofficial after 11 incredible and transformative years. It’s been a helluva ride for me spanning so many life and career milestones since my first EA stint 21 years ago in 2004 when I was a humble QA tester on a game called Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2 and Battlefield 2. This is where I got to realize so many dreams including managing global brand for successful STAR WARS video-games in the frontlines, managing PR for the legendary EA SPORTS portfolio and their iconic cover athletes, sharing furthermore the global phenomenon that is @thesims, and even being part of an amazing EA Originals team that won Game of the Year at The Game Awards with It Takes Two. But most of all I will sorely miss the relationships I’ve built here. From the developers, to the marketers, to the spokespersons, the company store team, to even the cleaning and food facilities staff. Some of these relationships have lasted the entire time when I was a gaming journalist visiting EA’s closeby Redwood City HQ campus hoping that one day I’d be able to work for the company that housed some of my favorite franchises and really enhanced my love for so many sports. Per MobyGames, I apparently collab’d with over 11,019 unique people. I’ll continue to salute the importance of videogames in my life and keep thanking everyone who has been a part of the journey no matter how long it takes. This has all been worth it. I’ve leveled up so much these last 11 years and I’m excited to see which mountain I’ll be climbing up next. If you interacted with me while I was at EA, I hope you can share some of your favorite memories as I’d love to reminisce. Today I’m officially a free agent and looking for the next awesome opportunity especially in Comms or Marketing. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you know of any great roles! by @rayalmeda

It’s unbelievable what this woman has done in the past 12 months. From driving and picking up the kids to school 90 minutes each way every day, doing 95% of their homework with them, to sleeping on the ground on Mother’s Day with our beloved @cowboybebopcorgi before he tragically passed. She’s our rock of the family… not me. Words can’t express how much you do for us @gahleasyz. You are selfless and you deserved that Hawaii trip this past week. To many more years of memories, personal growth, sleep and coffee… we love you very much. HAPPY BIRTHDAY. by @rayalmeda
