first wedding in the books 🌹

last weekend I had the honor of catering my very first wedding in the beautiful private backyard gardens of @whitedoveherbalsanctuary. with the help of two (very good) friends, we pulled off a grazing table and family-style dinner for 65, featuring freshly baked rosemary focaccia, @augustfirstvt baguettes and beautiful Vermont vegetables and herbs from @pitchforkfarm.

extra thankful to Maddie for her stunning homegrown herbal + floral garnishes that made every platter feel so special, and to Lu for growing, harvesting, and prepping all of that gorgeous veg.

so proud of how everything came out! even happier that everyone left full ✔️

my first solo catering gig was feeding the cast and crew of a short film my friends were producing and shooting on Cape Cod.

about six weeks before the shoot, my dear friend Sophie @sophiesagangutherz and their fiancé Daisy @daizerzzzz reached out after raising enough money through their production company to hire a chef.

five days, nine meals, 20-ish hungry people, one very nice home kitchen, and daily trips to set, delivering lunch with my trusty assigned PA Ari, a film grad student who was happy to jump in as sous chef when needed. it was blissful chaos.
after all, shooting schedules change, scenes might take a long time and you have to be adaptable. one night's spaghetti dinner went from a cozy sit-down meal to boxed takeout in about 10 minutes. (#showbiz) years of hearing “I need this on the fly” had prepared me for this very moment.

I had the time of my life! I met so many nice people!! and it was the first time I cooked for a big group, outside of family dinners and family meals.

& HUGE congratulations to my friends for this beautiful film, which won Best Queer Short in the Provincetown Film Festival recently 🏆
