Last Saturday at George Floyd Square felt like the Ten of Cups came to life. Family, community, and peace rolled into one.

We had @rondo_doubledutch @twincitiesskaters, @vividblackpaint creating with the kids, a violinist playing in the street—and for once, the kids got to just take over the street and play.

I looked around and thought: this is why I fight so hard for this place.

These people deserve joy. They deserve beauty. They deserve nice things. They’ve worked, organized, created and cared for this community for so long.

Thank you to @centralneighborhoodmpls @healthyrootsinstitute, every artist, vendor and neighbor who made this possible. there’s actually a limit on how many people I can tag so if you help put this together, please share this and claim credit for giving us all a gorgeous experience. 🥹

And if you’re an artist, healer, maker or local business—come vend with us.

We’re building the kind of community we deserve.
