Today’s the day, sort of! My new album comes out on October 15th, but starting TODAY you can pre-order the vinyl record AND the CD. Vinyls are expected to ship on or around October 30th, but the CD is going to ship early, like a couple weeks from now. So if you want to be the coolest kid at lunch and have the full album before it officially releases, the CD option is gonna be your jam. (Just keep in mind that if you get both the vinyl and CD in the same order I have to wait until everything in your order is ready to ship, so most likely end of October)

If you want your album autographed just reply to the confirmation email with your order number and let me know, it’ll be easier for me to keep track that way! It’s totally free but I will have to open the seal on the album to sign it.

One year ago today I decided I was going to quit music. I’d been doing this for way too long and I wasn’t getting any younger. It was time to move on. Even though I had felt a certain amount of success with other bands and musical projects, by 2024 I was just feeling left behind and confused for lack of a better phrase.

So I decided that if I was going to quit, I had to give it one last big swing. I had to put out the kind of shit I’d always wanted to make, the way I wanted to make it. So one year ago today I dropped the first single for what was supposed to be my last go at music. Then I just kept going. And about six million Spotify streams later, I can’t believe I almost quit. It took being in the darkest mental spot of my career for me to finally grab the wheel and take control. There’s no way I’m quitting now.

Over the last year I’ve learned so much, but the most important thing is certainly this:

FUCK. THEM.

To every single person that doubts you, or makes you feel like you’re not good enough:

FUCK. THEM.

Don’t let them get in your head, don’t let them stop you from doing what you love. I don’t give a fuck if your life’s passion is hand crafting sculptures of Betty White. Do that shit. My third (and hopefully best) album, Ray Hawthorne Can’t Be Trusted, dropped today! The love you guys have shown this record as it’s been rolling out has blown my mind. I went back and forth about what song to highlight and I decided it was kind of fitting to post the song that started it all, Sidelines.

I was so fucking nervous to roll these songs out, it was such a departure from what I’ve been doing the last few years. But from the second I dropped Sidelines you guys were on board. It might not be the biggest song on the album, but it’s definitely one of my favorites.

If you know me in real life, you know Scary Kids Scaring Kids is my favorite band. This song means a lot of things to me, but first and foremost it’s a tribute to those songs I grew up screaming along to.
