wishing that 15 pictures were enough to sum up this semester… 🪩💐✨🎉

that’s the short and sappy caption if you’re into that sort of thing lol… keep reading for a longer one.

i’ve been doing a lot of thinking about fall— how we celebrate and take pictures and add to our pinterest boards the falling leaves and changing colors of trees. and what we celebrate in fall is actually a season of stripping and of loss— the trees are growing and changing, and with it comes stripping and loss of the very thing that identifies trees: their leaves.
this fall, if i’m honest, has felt a lot like the trees for me— the Lord stripping me back, the Lord changing me, the Lord growing me through the revealing and loss of dead parts of me.

but the beautiful hope for the trees, for me, and for anyone else who has felt a bit of the same way— stripped— is the coming springtime and the new life that awaits. seasons come and pass, and autumn too will change into spring. and these pictures are the glimpses of those pieces of life that remind me of the hope in the promise of springtime. 🍂🍃 taken in Highlands College by @rayna.faulk

while my posting slowed down, life sure didn’t.

august was marked by transition…

grand rapids ——-> birmingham
everyheart tour —> college
18 roommates —-> 1 roommate (shoutout samantha)
summer —————> kinda fall?? at least fall semester lol

… but one thing remained.

this is the beauty and simplicity of walking in friendship with Jesus.

seasons change,
days come and go,
moments pass,
but He is the faithful Constant.

(or in other words, Jesus Christ TOOK OVER Las Vegas with His love!)

week 8: las vegas, nevada

i love that God doesn’t give up on His people, and He hasn’t given up on “sin city.” He’s already defeated sin and death itself, and His Kingdom and reign are just being established in the natural.

and i love that as He reveals His Kingdom, more than through power He reveals Himself through LOVE. i’ve never met another love like this, and every encounter with this love just leads me to love Him in return.

no big rally, no big show or worship night— just personal and individual love encounters with people.

68 people were saved by this love,
11 people were healed by this love,
16 people were freed by this love,
& over 240 people personally heard about this great love of God.
