So had this exhibition in my college on 28th jan. I had already started preparing since December. Made many sketches. Planned out things what'll go in what'll not. Jan came, collected money, spent around 4500rs. I was alone building this. Gareeb banda, so obv can't afford a 3d printer. So made the frame from wooden sticks, chose foam board for the upper body. Things were slow, somedays i felt very tired, and took total day off after being sleepless the prior day. Things went on like this. The main mistake was using stm32 blue pill for using it as a servo driver, without having much experience with it earlier. I could hv ordered an i2c 16ch pca servo driver, but it was already too late. The too small holes on the body were for ultrasonic sensor, thought to integrate obstacle avoiding or greeting when triggered. The bigger hole on the left side was for a speaker, which i was gonna connect with esp32 making it an ai assistant. It's my fault to keep this esp32 part to the end. I was thinking of using gemini api and google cloud tts service, but then it was that u need a visa card and need to make an one time payment to activate a free trial. I spent hours asking for a visa card to my friends but answers were negative. And nobody has a visa card in my family. My card was visa but i had forgotten to activate it. Then in the last sleepless night, I figured out, i could run a server in my phone or laptop, and connect my esp32 to it. Then i installed oracle virtual machine on my laptop, then esphome things were going alright, but open ai stt js didn't start. Then having stm32 not generating pwm signals in some selected pins js fried my brain. I gave up and went to lay on the bed. My cs teacher who watched all of my building statuses, Messeged me on WhatsApp, that "come early, I've kept a space for you" i bet she was rooting for me. But seeing all the repeated failure, no more time, sleepless and tired, i thought it's the best to give up for now. I said to my ma'am that i was feeling sour, but then i realised i do all this out of hobby anyway. Even if there was no competition today I'd be building such things at some point...
