just reminding you because i love you. 🫂 by @raysh.p
hyper-independence goes crazy! won’t let me down TWICE. 🫡 by @raysh.p
every now and then when i’m reaping, i’m like damn, what the hell did i sow!? can you believe q3 is already halfway gone? please shut up talking to me. i’ve spent most of it frazzled but its (life’s) progress has been constant. from working on house projects to fighting for more common sense housing legislation to increase housing supply and affordability. and i’m back in school! (i’m insane i know!) if you wanna hang, let’s do it at a coffee shop or library or body-double with me at home, i don’t know chile. i just know i have no more free time and i know community wants to community with me. in the meantime, enjoy this dump of life’s happenings. love is what keeps me going. i hope you’ve been well, babes. 🫂💙 xoxo—rayshp. #instadaily by @raysh.p
it’s Monday chile, whatchu do last week? thanks for asking! i spoke twice on a national stage — one of those engagements was with my GUURRRRLLL @kittelmethis, connected with friends from across the country, had some much needed nights out with my best friends and got some headshots done. first time in New Orleans, only note i have is: if you’re an asthmatic like me, don’t go during stormy season or the air will try to kill you. other than that, i had a BLAST babe. save yourself! 🫂💙✨ by @raysh.p
i’m gonna start using instagram for what it is supposed to be used for (they mama said they was a photo sharing app! so it’s a photo sharing app!) there ain’t nothing aesthetic about the human experience, if i’m being honest. it can be beautiful and messy at the same time. so…here’s a slight recap of the first 5 1/2 months. if it weren’t for the pictures, i’d forget how much life is being lived in real time because i get so caught up in the moments of despair; it isn’t all bad. new avatar… by @raysh.p
This was a nearly perfect pick me up to wrap up a very difficult January. 🫶 by @raysh.p
a year in review: 2025 was full of love and grief. even in the midst of complaints, i’m grateful for it all. 🫂💙 by @raysh.p
this past weekend we laid my god-mother to rest. there has been so much turbulence going on since the start of January and none of it compares to this. i keep playing “leaves on the vine” from the avatar and getting emotional. my god mom stayed in touch and up to date with me; no matter where she was in the world. she was truly one of one and a soul who deserved so much more. we found out at the top of the year that she had stage 4 terminal cancer. a warrior to the end. at her service, we sang “well done” and i wept. god mom, you did a phenomenal job. you raised a beautiful young lady in Aniya! you earned your PhD in engineering! an innovator, a free thinker, a free spirit. i love you so much and i’m going to miss you. more than you know. “you made it over…you put on your robe.” this past weekend, i spent time and hung out with my family. my mom was in space with all her siblings, hanging with my auntie, had the chance to hang with my baby cuzzin and we watched that amaaaazing half-time show together. reflecting on how all of it is love. traversing states for my god-mom to lay her to rest, to spend time with our family, laughing and crying all at once. experiencing joy and grief, all at once. thank you to everyone who has held me since the start of the year and extended grace when i wasn’t myself. thank you to everyone who has held me and my mother up in prayer. 💙🫂 raysh. #godmom #godson #soulsisters #restinpeace #family #superbowl #halftimeshow #kendricklamar #loveperservering by @raysh.p
2024 was titled ‘breaking ground’ for me for several reasons and what a year it has been breaking ground. this year has took me out of my shell in so many ways and i’m so grateful to where it has brought me, the people it’s put in my life and the doors they continue to open. i’m leading this life with an open heart. genuinely, believe when i say i love you because i do. all of the moments and experiences, the memories, and bonds have been pivotal in this foundation work over the past year. i’m working on creating that beautiful life. 2025 is to building and expanding; to claiming space. Raysh is becoming and i love that, for me. happy new year 🫶🏾💙 #yearinreview #yearunwrapped #happynewyear #reflections #togreater #growth #Black #BlaQueer #queer #millennial #zeroyear by @raysh.p
30 years on this planet. this year, i’ve… been to 6 states, celebrated new life attending baby showers, got paid to host my first company event, met my blood big sister for the first time, watched my cousin graduate college, became suicide safe certified, bought a house with one of my best friend’s ( @__briannaaaaa ) and doing a lot of the renovations ourselves, had to bury a sister ( @shadii_bootz, we love you @cvkaine_love ), sat and spoke on national committees regarding multifamily rental housing, and i’m so thankful. growing has been the most necessary uncomfort i’ve experienced. thankful for the connections that are surviving the turbulence that is this life. y’all, life can be so hard sometimes but then the sun comes out again. trying to be grateful and appreciative of the many seasons, understanding why they’re all so necessary. thank you for the grace. i give it back. thank you for the love. i love you too. 🫂💙 #happybirthdaytome #solarreturn #happynewyear #30 #zeroyear #growth #saturnsreturn #cheers by @raysh.p

mother’s day weekend recap — i went back to my birthplace! i’m as Detroit (all my folks are from Detroit) as they come but i was born in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota. my baby cousin @kyaphillips_ graduated from University of Minnesota with her Bachelors of Arts Communication Studies, emphasis on Digital Media and her minor in Korean Studies (she’s fluent by the way)! i’m so proud of her! i also got the chance to meet my older sister on my dad’s side of the family @shanitarenee and it felt long overdue! been connected via social media for over 16 years and we finally got the chance to meet! she said to me “you’re still so cute and chunky” and i definitely cried on the way back to my hotel 😭 we are so much alike it’s not even funny! i’m so grateful and happy for this connection, and the deepening that’s coming after. 💙 and took my little cousin to see @theestallion as a graduation gift! yes, a time was HAD! she really put on an amazing show! curating that beautiful life. ✨ #Blaqueer #family #Detroit #mpls #mothersdayweekend #familyreunion #graduation #friendsturnedfamily #Black #megantheestallion #hotgirlsummertour by @raysh.p
