All nine at once.
Started with Escher's Ascending and Descending and the colours of Monument Valley, then let one setup grow nine different buildings.
Made entirely in Houdini. by @razvan.flore

One setup. Nine buildings.
Every level turns a quarter and lands where it started, so the stairs never end.
Made entirely in Houdini.
I built it once, then let it grow nine different ways.

Ziggurat

Stairs that only climb. Every level turns 90° and locks back into place, endlessly.

Still watching.
.
Some of them have blue eyes now. Same rules, they still blink and look around whenever they want.
Built and rendered entirely in Houdini.
