Check out my new article about local Salem Witch Trials sites on the seacoast in this week's edition of the Seacoast Scene newspaper.

In the article, I write about the site of accused witch Susannah Martin's house in Amesbury, the graves of court assistant and accused witch Robert Pike and Mary Bradbury in Salisbury, the site of Robert Pike's house in Salisbury and Witchtrot Road in South Berwick, Maine. Link in bio.

I got to take a little boat trip out to Wood Island in Kittery, Maine today for an article I’m doing on the restorations to the Wood Island Life Saving Station. I felt a little like the visiting journalist in Widow’s Bay when heading out there but fortunately the island doesn’t seem to be cursed. Article should be out in the September 3 issue of the Seacoast Scene newspaper. by @rb_brooks

I went “down the witches’ road” yesterday in South Berwick, Maine. I’m writing an article about Salem Witch Trials-related historical sites on the seacoast for the Seacoast Scene newspaper so I stopped by South Berwick to see Witchtrot Road. It’s a historic road that Reverend George Burroughs and three lawmen traveled down on their way back from Wells, Maine to Salem, Mass after Burroughs had been arrested for witchcraft during the Salem Witch Trials in 1692. The road is also home to a replica of the historic Parson Capen House in Topsfield, Mass. The article will be published in the August 27 edition of the Seacoast Scene.

Check out my new article about local historic houses with ties to the American Revolution in the July 16 edition of the Seacoast Scene newspaper. I wrote about the Langdon House, the Moffatt-Ladd House in Portsmouth, NH, and the Sayward-Wheeler House in York, Maine. Check out my new article in the June 25th edition of the Seacoast Scene newspaper about local shipwrecks that you can actually see from the shore along the Seacoast. Link in bio.

Here's a video I took of the wreckage of the 1894 Jennie M. Carter shipwreck on Salisbury Beach, which I discuss in the article. During very low tides, you can still see the ribs of the ship sticking up out of the water at the beach center. by @rb_brooks
