Pinball - Mike & Tony Seltzer
Obi Strip Concept

I wanted to use this one to practice adding more advertisements, like short forewords and additional graphics on the "Also Available" section on the back. Other than that, I utilized the limited amount of colors from the cover to add accents to the primarily black-and-white strip. This was one of my favorites to make so far, and I love how it came out!

SIDE NOTE: I decided to construct a new album cover for the front and back out of the graphics from the CD. I had imagined it as a vinyl release, so I figured this would theoretically look much better. by @rbalynch

By The Time I Get To Phoenix - Injury Reserve
Obi Strip Concept

The idea here was to put the members of the band at the front and leave the tracklist on the back. I felt as though the music was done this way, putting the raw talent of the members at the forefront above themes and messages, thus the obi strip should reflect that. The colors are meant to contrast the overwhelming red of the album cover, letting it pop out a little bit more. by @rbalynch

Exmilitary - Death Grips
Obi Strip Concept

The strip is very simple and very basic. The English text's font is derived from the cover, and the Japanese style is smooth and clean to contrast the sharp edges of everything else. The obi features two record label logos; that of Ormolycka, the first to release the album on cassette and the last to release on vinyl, and that of Third Worlds, Death Grips' own label. The tracklist is in a centered format to mimic that of the original vinyl pressing.

SIDE NOTE: The track, "5D", instead translates to "Fifth Dimension" for the sake of maintaining a stable aesthetic.
