Deceptive people love this law, they understand the power of it and know they can influence people to "their side" when they get out ahead of something. What is really sad is the number of people that fall for it time and time again. They now give no credit to the full story and question every proven fact that contradicts first mention. This has caused many to be ostracized and criticized simply because they lost the power struggle to those who jump ahead. There is always more to the story......just remember experts know how to control the narrative. by @rbhymel

Acts 16:14-15 "Among those listening was a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message. And when she and her household had been baptized, she urged us, “If you consider me a believer in the Lord, come and stay at my house.” And she persuaded us".

I love this story, they go looking for a quiet place to pray, find some women and one in particular Lydia, worshipped God to the extent that she knew Him. Paul preached Jesus and the Lord opened her heart, she received him and was baptized and her whole house.

It was that simple! The key was Holy Spirit opened her heart. As we walk out our life in Christ in word, deed, and attitudes, Holy Spirit walks with us opening hearts to Christ and perhaps those around us will be saved. by @rbhymel

These 2 men walked into the Temple, spoke life and healing into a lame man then spoke to the crowd of Jesus, the One who healed the lame man. They reminded them that they had nailed Jesus to the cross but God had raised Him from the dead. They stood unashamedly before the Temple police and the Saduccees who had the power to punish them and told them the same.

Scripture doesn't say the healing, or the preaching was telling, their boldness was. So the question remains, can they tell we have been with Jesus? by @rbhymel

What did they have to give but the Name of Jesus and the authority that comes with that Name! They didn't give him healing, they gave Him the Name and because that Name dwelled richly in them through Holy Spirit, the man received what he needed, healing that he would no longer sit and beg.

There was another in Acts 19:11:17 of some who tried to "use the Name of Jesus" but these didn't know Christ. The 7 sons of Sceva ended up running for their lives trying to to "conjur" up a miracle using the Name without the authority of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Dramatic contrast!!

We dont pray "in the Name of Jesus" as if it is some kind of incantation. It is more than the verbal use, it is the authority of carrying the Name because we belong to Him and are being transformed daily into His image. He can trust us with the use of His name because we have overcome wanting glory for self (which the 7 sons wanted) so that Jesus alone gets the glory. The Name of Jesus was glorified not only in the healed lame man, but all who witnesses the miracle. by @rbhymel

What changed? In between these two happenings was bitter weeping, the Godly sorrow of repentance, followed by forgiveness full restoration to the disciples leading into the power of Holy Spirit falling in the upper room. Now the coward was man of courage through the cross and the promised Help from heaven. by @rbhymel

Today, there is a way to return to His house, thru the blood and the cross. Without repentance, we are no better than these. by @rbhymel
