As I said last week, I got into 3D printing to complete my MOTU collection. The prices of the Laser figures were bonkers so I wanted to see if I could make my own.

Two years ago I bought files for scans of a Laser Power He-Man. I printed them and was reasonably happy with the results. He sat on my shelf for a time and then a friend expressed interest in him (and the Laser Skeletors I had made) so off they went to a new home.

Last year I took another stab at it, using the armor designed by @estifenjouquins I made a new He-Man, a Faker, an Anti-Eternia He-man and (not pictured) Slime-Pit He-Man.
During these builds I started my first mods to the files and added ball jointed hips.
In the end I was unsatisfied with the finished He-Man. My filament choices left him too pale and I didn't care for the armor color I'd picked. This He-Man's been sitting on my shelf for about a year now, a constant reminder that I needed to take another pass.

Then Mattel announced Origins Laser Power He-Man and it got me motivated. I selected filaments, I did some cleanup on the files, went back to the original armor, adjusted the ball joints and printed the figure. (pic 3) Once assembled I noted multiple places I wished I'd fixed and instead of waiting, I jumped right back in.
I completely reworked the figure this time. I repaired the shoulder joints, split the hands and boots of to be printed individually. I rebuilt the torso, changing the neck and waist connections. New trunks with a new belt and I also opted to print the head fully in color instead of painting the hair. This resulted in picture 2, a better result than I ever expected. I'm very happy with this one and don't plan to make any further changes. In my eyes he's perfect.

And I didn't stop there, I churned out a couple New Adventures variants while I was at it. With my Skeletors (future post incoming) I'm currently sitting on 11 finished Laser Light MOTU replica figures. Curious if anyone else has more lol.
