Calling all creatives, entrepreneurs and professionals in the 804!

The next Movers+Makers Mixer is almost here, and this is one you don’t want to miss.

Hosted by The Art Seen (@theartseen_ ) and Mostly Sugar (@mostlysugar), this monthly gathering is designed to bring together Richmond’s creative + business community to build relationships, exchange ideas and open doors to new collaborations, opportunities and resources. Whether you’re looking for your next creative partner, business connection or simply want to meet good people, this is the room to be in.

This month is extra special as we celebrate and support Sarah & Co. Café (@sarahandcocafe) one of Richmond’s newest Black-owned businesses. We’ll also hear from the Richmond Black Restaurant Experience (@rbrexperience) about ways creatives and professionals can get involved and support the city’s growing food scene.

Registration is free, but required and space is limited, so reserve your spot today through the link in our bio.

Tag your crew and tell a friend to tell a friend. We’ll see you Tuesday!

You never forget your firsts. Thank you, Richmond! 🧡

What an incredible Day One at Sarah & Co. Café! @sarahandcocafe

From our youngest customer—just 7 weeks old, visiting with his parents from Church Hill—to Ms. Brenda, who made the drive from Dinwiddie, every visit reminded us why this space is important.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared a meal, offered encouragement, and celebrated this new chapter with us.

Join us tomorrow!

Today, we celebrate the men behind the movement.

Our sound guys.
Our DJs.
Our videographers.
Our marketplace vendors.
Our artists.

The men who pop the tents, carry the boxes, drive the trucks, clean, hang, paint, build, and give the interviews.

And of course, the men who chef, cook, cater, and create.

Could we do it without you? 🤷🏽‍♀️

But we’re so much happier because we don’t have to.

Tag your favorite father-owned business below and keep an eye on our stories today.

Today’s for you, fellas. 👑

25 YEARS. A LEGACY. A STAPLE. 🐟✨

Croaker’s Spot is celebrating 25 years of culture, cuisine, and community!

This isn’t just a restaurant… this is what it looks like when legacy meets purpose and food meets impact.

25 REASONS WE CELEBRATE CROAKER’S SPOT:
	1.	Black-owned excellence
	2.	A true continuation of the Eggleston family legacy
	3.	Strong + Black + Woman ownership at the helm
	4.	Two thriving locations serving the community (visit Petersburg, too)
	5.	A diverse, welcoming staff that feels is family
	6.	Real career pathways — not just jobs
	7.	Proof that growth is possible (from hostess to owner 👏🏾)
	8.	A business that builds people, not just profit
	9.	Deep roots in the Richmond community
	10.	Consistent support of other local businesses
	11.	Collaboration over competition — always
	12.	A “girl’s girl” leading and uplifting women in the industry
	13.	A safe and empowering space in hospitality
	14.	A menu that never misses (the portions big enough for leftovers and just as good)
	15.	Food that feels like home every single time
	16.	The legendary Fish Boat (if you know, you KNOW 🐟👀)
	17.	Generations of customers served with love
	18.	Culture in every corner — not just on the plate - the music, the art, the soul.
	19.	A brand that has stood the test of time
	20.	A gathering place for family, friends, and celebrations
	21.	Consistency, quality, and authenticity for 25 years
	22.	A business that pours back into the people and overcoming every barrier.
	23.	Representation that matters in this industry
	24.	A cornerstone of Black culinary culture in RVA, from Jackson to Blackwell.
	25.	And STILL evolving, growing, and setting the standard
And number 26 … JUST BECAUSE
This is what 25 years of impact looks like.

Join the celebration. Pull up to the block party. Eat good. taken in Richmond, Virginia by @rbrexperience

A decade. A movement. Moments we’ll never forget.

RBRE X wasn’t just a celebration — it was a full-circle reminder of what happens when culture, community, and cuisine come together with purpose.

From Mobile Soul Sunday to Student Engagement Experience, from Driven By Her to Love & Basketball Collab, we didn’t just show up… we showed OWT.

We poured into our youth, amplified our restaurants, created real economic impact, and reminded the city (and beyond) that Richmond’s Black culinary scene is unmatched.

To our restaurant partners, sponsors, volunteers, creatives, and EVERY guest who pulled up, posted, shared, and supported — thank you for being part of this legacy.
