RCA is a Bangalore based architecture and design studio founded by @rohun24 who is an architect and educator.

Join us for the opening of the exhibition, 𝗛𝗬𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗔𝗟: 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 at Arthshila Ahmedabad on 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟯𝟭 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, from 𝟱 𝗣𝗠 onwards.

To pose the question of the local reflects, no doubt, the vacillations of our time. In its very definition, the term helps frame the potential field of action for contemporary architecture in relation to a long tradition of typology or form-making, and to the possibility of bringing forth new ways of working in the civic realm.

Architecture of the immediate proposes a shift in thinking, from the operative towards the conceptual. What might architectural meaning become when its point of departure is not an abstract idea of place, but a force of the familiar context, language, material and culture?

Through the work and practices of 𝗣𝗞_𝗶𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗣𝗧𝗶𝗢𝗡, 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝟰, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗖 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀, the exhibition seeks to enquire into the relationship of architecture and its solidarities with the local in context of India; how it is represented and articulated.

The opening evening will feature a walkthrough and an interactive session with the featuring practices.

We hope to see you then! by @rc._architects

$Staircourt House by RC Architects On a compact urban plot, where space is scarce and every square meter holds significant value, the **Staircourt House** redefines circulation as the central organizing element of domestic life. Moving beyond the conventional notion of a staircase as a secondary functional component, the project positions it at the core of the home, transforming circulation into an integrated spatial, social, and environmental experience. Conceived as a _staircourt_, the house merges the functions of a staircase, courtyard, and living space into a singular vertical volume. Extending through a double-height void, this central space establishes a strong physical and visual connection between floors while allowing natural light to penetrate deep into the interior. The movement through the house unfolds as a sequence of layered perspectives, framed openings, and visual connections, encouraging interaction and creating a sense of continuity between otherwise distinct spaces. Through this approach, the Staircourt House transforms vertical circulation from a means of movement into the architectural heart of the home, where light, space, and everyday life converge. A House - A landscape of everyday life ( 2026 - ongoing)

Rather than a single object, this house is imagined as a sequence of thresholds that move from the street towards the landscape, from the public to the private.
At its centre, a planted social space connects living, dining, puja and movement, while the double height volume brings light, air and visual connection through different levels.

Multi-family housing

This housing project is envisioned as a contemporary response to climate, community, and urban living. The architecture balances simplicity with warmth through a restrained material palette, deep balconies, shaded entrances, and carefully framed openings that respond to light and ventilation.

Community Centre and Retreat ( Project under-construction)

Set in the valley of Gaganbawda, the community centre serves as a shared pause for pilgrims to Gagangiri Maharaj Math, a retreat for visitors from Kolhapur and the local doctors community - bringing together rest, care and quiet interaction.

House for all Seasons

A house designed as a continuum of sun, shade and water - shaped by seasons rather than static form. Set within Pune’s temperate climate, the house is conceived as a sequence of spaces that respond to the rhythms of the year. Drawing inspiration from Mediterranean domestic architecture, the design reinterprets verandahs, sunken living areas, sun rooms, and water as climatic and social instruments rather than stylistic gestures.

Vivoli Affordable Housing , Neral

Affordable housing can be more than just efficient. It can be dignified, climate-responsive, and deeply connected to community.

Located in Neral, Maharashtra, Vivoli reimagines high density living through passive design strategies, shared open spaces, and thoughtfully planned homes. The interlocking housing units maximise natural light, cross ventilation and spatial flexibility while fostering interaction between neighbours. Every design decision responds to the climate, ensuring comfortable living with reduced dependence on mechanical cooling.

Vivoli demonstrates that affordability is not about being less. It is about designing intelligently, where architecture enhances everyday life through simplicity, efficiency and care.
