For us, Design isn’t just what we do—it’s how we find meaning, how we pause and truly connect in a world that never stops rushing.
It was an interesting conversation with Travel + Leisure on Design in Asia and on Brand Identity and Communication in today’s world and our view on it. How our design ethos is influenced by our travel experiences is undeniable and is reflected in every aspect of our work.

Please have a read and let us know what you think.

Thank you to @travelandleisureindia and Samreen Tungekar for allowing me to share this journey and reflection through your platform. Thank you @hashimbadani for the photo 😄 by @rc.designstudio

Fifteen years ago, we had the privilege of beginning a design journey with Chanakya International. What has endured beyond work is a relationship and friendship we deeply cherish.

It has been inspiring to witness Chanakya evolve from an extraordinary house of tactile surface ornamentation into a globally respected ecosystem for embroidery—one that has brought Indian craftsmanship, artistry and education to the world through meaningful collaborations and pioneering practices. To have contributed to that journey through design conversations and creative partnerships has been an honour.

Over the years, we have worked together on countless projects, many of which have remained quietly behind the scenes. Yet each one has shaped and challenged us.
As Chanakya celebrates their remarkable 40 year milestone and looks towards the next decade, we wish the entire team continued success, purpose and growth.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Vinod Uncle, Karishma and Nehal for your trust, generosity and belief in our work over all these years.

A visual language gives a brand the ability to live beyond its logo—through repetition, consistency, and thoughtful details across every interaction.

For AUM, we developed a flexible system of patterns, graphic elements, and applications that could extend seamlessly across touchpoints, carrying the brand’s sense of calm, care, and connection into the everyday.

From product packaging on jars and stickers on kraft packets to bags, books, and digital experiences, each element was designed to feel like part of one larger story.

Delighted to share that the diary we created for AUM Life, in collaboration with @printwithprodon and @jehangirsurti has been awarded a Silver Prize at NAEP’26 in the Group 1 – Offset Printing category.

Designed as a companion for reflection, the diary encourages mindfulness, self-awareness, and the appreciation of simple joys. The visual language draws from the symbolism of the circle—representing wholeness and balance—while a soft, calming palette creates a sense of quiet ease and shaanti.

A visual language is shaped by the worlds that inspire it — drawing from texture, memory, materiality, and cultural nuance to create something emotionally enduring.

@thealtarasa

For AltaRasa, we began with moodboards that defined the atmosphere the brand needed to inhabit. These explorations became the foundation for a larger narrative system — guiding the brand strategy, naming, visual language, photography, videography, and social media storytelling. At RCD, every layer was developed to feel interconnected and intentional, ensuring each visual carried the same sense of depth, discovery, and emotion.

Colour became a key part of this narrative. The richness of terracotta combined with soft pink and deep blue, evolved into a distinct storytelling device for the brand — where the palette did not simply belong to AltaRasa, but AltaRasa began to belong to the palette itself.

AltaRasa celebrates the beauty of South Asia through a contemporary lens.

@thealtarasa

AltaRasa serves as a discovery-led ecosystem for fashion that bridges the intimacy of indigenous crafts with the discernment of global luxury.
Founded by Lopa Mudra, the label showcases South Asian design and heritage with a clean, contemporary aesthetic.

We conceptualized the name ‘AltaRasa’ by weaving together three distinct cultural threads- ‘Alta’, from Spanish and Latin signifies height and nobility, in Bengali, it is the sacred crimson dye symbolising celebration. ‘Rasa’ derived from Sanskrit represents the emotional essence evoked by art.

Developed in collaboration with Peepul Advisory, the brand’s strategy and identity is built on a narrative of meaning and intentionality.
We created a brand identity that acts as a vessel for these stories—translating texture, tone, and memory into a modern visual language. By redefining luxury as beauty inseparable from meaning, memory, and identity, we created a brand experience where every detail feels like a curated discovery.

OOR, a restaurant serving home-style meals from the south of India is nestled in the historic lanes of Fort.

1/2

We are grateful that OOR is our sixth restaurant branding project that we were thrilled to be a part of.
As a studio that finds joy in food and the stories around it, this process went beyond design—we spent time understanding flavours, memories and the emotional core of the brand.

An ode to Panchali’s mother and the meals she grew up with, OOR is rooted in nostalgia—food that feels like home. The intention was to create something warm and familiar, something that resonates with anyone who carries a love for the food of South India.

Built from the ground up, we worked closely through the naming process to concepts for the space to build an identity that honours the brand’s values while giving it a distinct presence of its own.
Drawing from the moulded pillars of South Indian architecture, the everyday beauty of vessels and the patterns of tiled surfaces found across the homes and streets of the south—we translated their shapes, forms, and colours into a cohesive visual language.

This identity extended to a complete expression through every little detail of communication including some fun stickers conceived in-house.

Rooted in the ethos of serving home-style meals from Karnataka, the visual language emerges from memory, material and place.

Introducing Lililo, Live Limitless Love.

Some of our favourite projects begin with inspired, young entrepreneurs, especially when they come to us with a strong idea and the intent to build something meaningful. Working with @sumergehani on Lililo was one such journey.

Lililo captures the essence of the modern young woman, her confidence, energy, and sense of self. We were invested in shaping the brand’s story from its inception, starting with research, brand strategy, and naming, carrying that narrative through to the brand identity, logo, and design system.

Every detail was thoughtfully designed, from symbols, charms, linings, and zippers to the recurring heart motif developed as a distinctive metal accent on the bags. Each element is intentional, functional, and designed to be carried with love.

Lililo is a young, contemporary brand that recognises the importance of good design, product innovation and thinking outside of the box.

A look back at some of our work in 2025.

A year of branding, building identities, and shaping visual systems across restaurants, fashion, wellness, and beyond. 2025 kept us creating, experimenting, and growing with some amazing clients. Our work is shaped by the people we collaborate with, and we’re grateful for every opportunity, every idea, every win.

AUM began as an idea — a vision Richa Agarwal held for a space of wellbeing, care, and connection.

From the very inception, we became a part of its journey.
We helped shape its identity, create the logo and craft its visual language. We also guided Brio interiors with the brand visual language, and helped curate the customer journeys.

This October, as AUM opens its Mumbai centre, we celebrate a space, and another story of design and intention.
