Presence is the state of being sensed, across bodies and distance.

This workshop explores embodied remote communication through guided reflection, voice-based exercises, and participant interactions.
We will experiment with how presence can be felt, constructed, and shared even when communication is mediated or distant.

The session includes closed-eye guided exercises, listening, and voice-following activities.

Before the Gesture attends to states that remain not yet fully visible.

Bringing together interactive installations, sculpture, and costume, the exhibition allows the absent body to regain a sense of “presence” through vibration, touch, sound, and structure.

The works move between action and stillness, body and object, presence and absence: at once traces left by gestures and possibilities that remain unfinished, still in the process of becoming.

👁️ TAKE A GLIMPSE AT WHAT’S COMING TO HOXTON HALL THIS WEEKEND.

3 exhibition rooms. 9 films. 12 live performances. 2 days to experience it all.

In response to, and in defiance of, William Faulkner’s 1924 poetry collection The Marble Faun, AS WE LAY DYING reflects on the struggles and hardships of life, and on what it means to devote oneself to a purpose until the final breath.

It celebrates those who dare to dismantle the worlds they inherit and forge new ones. Their spirit of dedication persists beyond endings: restless, courageous and endlessly becoming.

Across art, fashion, film, theatre, live performance and sound, each artist approaches these ideas in their own way.

On 26–27 September, the festival takes over Hoxton Hall.

⬛ 26 SEP — EXHIBITION CHAPTER

Three rooms, each with its own atmosphere:

📍 RETURNING TO THE GREEN ROOM
May Scott Studio

A cave-like space shaped by installation, low-frequency sound, responsive light and imagined non-human landscapes.

📍 BEFORE THE GESTURE
Palmer Room

Fashion and textile installations exploring the body, clothing, memory and domestic fantasy.

📍 IN THE THIN PLACE
Reading Room

Workshops, VR, ritual, live performance, painting, moving image and participatory works.

Come for one programme or spend the day moving through all three spaces.

🎭 On Sunday, the festival moves into Hoxton Hall’s Main Hall for nine films and twelve live performances.

The programme includes theatre, movement, puppetry, spoken word, electronic sound, dance film, animation, documentary, art film and sci-fi.

Very happy to share that my @rcaied graduation project, Tasting Tomorrow, will be presented at @vamuseum as part of Digital Design Weekend 2026 this week.

Developed during my MA in Information Experience Design at @royalcollegeofart, Tasting Tomorrow explores how the climate crisis could reshape the living species and environments that are familiar to us today.

Drawing on environmental and climate data including rising temperatures, ocean acidification, changing soil moisture, humidity and microplastic pollution — the project translates these often invisible changes into speculative transformations in the form, texture, colour, behaviour and habitats of future species.

Through mutated fruits, mushrooms and marine organisms, alongside terrariums and moving images, the installation imagines possible futures shaped by worsening climate conditions. Rather than predicting exactly what the future will look like, Tasting Tomorrow uses speculation as a warning, making the consequences of climate change tangible and visible.

This year’s V&A Digital Design Weekend brings together installations, workshops, talks and demonstrations exploring the intersections of art, design and technology, including our changing relationships with ecology, care and community.

Excited to be presenting Celebrating Autonomy as part of the Digitalism: NEXT section of DIGITALISM 2026 at the British Art Fair, Saatchi Gallery, London, from 24–27 September 2026.

Celebrating Autonomy is a speculative immersive experience exploring surveillance capitalism, behavioural governance, and what happens to personal autonomy when increasingly intimate aspects of everyday life become measurable data.

Set within a near-future society governed by the fictional Central Choice Authority (CCA), citizens are continuously observed, analysed and assigned a public Stability Rating that determines access to everyday privileges. Alongside their emotions, moral decisions and behaviour, the system measures increasingly absurd and invasive metrics, questioning how far systems of data collection and prediction might reach in the pursuit of optimisation.

Originally developed at the Royal College of Art, the project was realised as a large-scale, room-based interactive installation combining multi-wall projection, spatial audio, real-time tracking and participant interaction, alongside a VR version that relocates the experience into a more private and personal setting.

At DIGITALISM: NEXT, I’ll be presenting moving-image documentation of the immersive installation alongside a new physical artefact from its fictional world.

Where the visible loosens its hold,
and the unseen draws near,
we enter.

For a moment,
the world is not as fixed as it seems.

As part of As We Lay Dying, In The Thin Place transforms the Reading Room into an intimate space of encounter, participation and shifting perception.

Bringing together installation, moving image, painting, photography, sound, sculpture, poetry, workshops, VR and live performance, the exhibition explores moments when familiar boundaries begin to loosen between the visible and invisible, presence and absence, the material and the imagined.

Rather than asking audiences to remain outside the works, In The Thin Place invites them to enter. Through listening, watching, moving, making and participating, each encounter becomes shaped by the presence of those within it.

A “thin place” is a threshold: a space where divisions become porous and what once seemed fixed begins to shift.

Here, the audience is not simply an observer.
You become part of what unfolds.

A short recap of Unseen Orchestra @hornimanmuseumgardens 🌿🎧

Developed as a collaboration between Royal College of Art Information Experience Design and Horniman Museum & Gardens, the project invited visitors to explore hidden sounds across the garden and collectively compose an evolving micro-orchestra through movement and listening.

The mission of this project is to reconstruct an extraterrestrial landscape we have received to study the alternative existence of non-human entities. We are rebuilding an uncanny, cave-like of non ecology in the backstage of Hoxton Hall, a Victorian music hall built in 1863. In this darkened space, low-frequency vibrations and shifting lights respond to one another, forming an unconventional rhythm that suggests a distortion of our sense of reality across temporal and spatial dimensions. Non-human organisms lurk and scatter throughout space along with construction tools: this is an extraterrestrial terrain (re)built by human beings.

(𝚁𝚎)𝚝𝚞𝚛𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚝𝚘 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝙶𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚗 𝚁𝚘𝚘𝚖 invites London-based artists engaged in the creation and research of non-human organisms and entities from a decentring, post-anthropocentric perspective to collectively construct a fictional extraterrestrial landscape. Situated within a decentred, post-anthropocentric framework, the project unfolds through a process of collective world-building grounded theoretically in queer ecology and dark ecology. Beginning with the artists’ existing works, the project extends into a discussion of the characteristics and habitats of the organisms they have created, using images, texts, and diagrams to sketch out the blueprint of this extraterrestrial terrain.

Operational Ecologies—How Does a Machine See?

This project explores the gap between human perception and machinic vision, drawing on the safety-enforcing surveillance systems currently tested in train stations around london.

Visitors are encouraged to move through the space: crossing the yellow line, approaching obstacles and triggering live cameras that analyse their movements in real time. The four hand-built metal sculptures act as physical interfaces for these different layers of machine analysis.

The question is no longer just how automated systems see, but what it means for us to be seen through them.
