Redeemer exists to celebrate and declare the gospel of God as we grow in knowing and following Jesus Christ.
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
A couple of weeks ago, Club 56 students and leaders headed to camp for a weekend of fellowship, worship, and fun. From the high ropes course and canoe rides to campfires, early-morning football, and worship at sunset, there was no shortage of ways to enjoy time together.

We’re grateful for the Redeemer Kids team and the Reeds for faithfully investing in our children and helping them grow in their faith. by @rccbirmingham

Redeemer is searching for a Young Adults & Membership Director to help shepherd one of the most vibrant parts of our church family. If you didn't know, 43% of Redeemer is in their 20s, and we've seen remarkable signs of God's faithfulness as young adults come to us looking for real community and discipleship.

This person will lead and disciple our young adults, guide newcomers from guest to Covenant Member, and help lead our Men's Ministry. Please pray with us for the right person and help us spread the word. Visit rccbirmingham.org/jobs for the full details. by @rccbirmingham

Mandy and Alex met at Redeemer, got married, and even postponed their honeymoon so Alex could experience his first Best Würst Fest. What started as a long-standing Redeemer tradition became a memorable part of their wedding weekend and a glimpse of the community they’ve found here. Swipe through to hear their story and what Best Würst Fest means to them.

Come join us for Best Würst Fest on October 25. Learn more at http://rccbirmingham.org/bwf. by @rccbirmingham

We loved seeing photos of Redeemer members gathering in backyards and parks across Birmingham and beyond for our Neighborhood Gatherings! For some, it was a chance to meet people they had never met before. For others, it was an opportunity to spend more time with people they see at church each week. For everyone, we hope it was a reminder that our church family extends well beyond the walls of our sanctuary. One person at Crestwood Park summed up the evening with a simple question: “Why don’t we do this more often?” Maybe they’re on to something.

As we continue looking for ways to make a large church feel small, we’re already hearing about new neighborhood GroupMes popping up around Birmingham (shout-out to the Homewood crew!). So don’t be afraid to be the instigator and get the next gathering on the calendar. Apparently, all you need to do to get into the GroupMe is answer one question: What’s something unique about Redeemer? by @rccbirmingham

A few years ago, Brandon and Julia Nelson asked whether Redeemer had ever considered planting a church in north Jefferson County, something they and others had been praying toward. They didn’t know it yet, but the Lord would use them to answer their own prayers.

That prayer became @trinitynorthjefferson, which first gathered in September 2024. This past Sunday marked a significant milestone as Trinity ordained its first elders and instituted its own Covenant Membership. After two years of walking alongside them, we’re grateful to see Trinity step forward as its own church family and celebrate the way God continues to build His church across Birmingham.

Join us in praying for Trinity and for elders Brandon Nelson, Matt Tootle, and Caleb Cleveland as they shepherd this new covenant family. May Trinity faithfully proclaim the good news of Jesus in north Jefferson County and to the ends of the earth. by @rccbirmingham

Life at church can sometimes mean sitting beside someone on Sunday without knowing their name, where they live, or what’s happening in their life. Neighborhood Gatherings are a small way to create space for deeper connection and to grow in knowing the people God has placed around us.

Join us this Sunday from 5–7PM! For more information and to find your neighborhood gathering, visit rccbirmingham.org/neighborhood. by @rccbirmingham

One of Redeemer’s Core Convictions is Gospel Hospitality, which means we want our church to be a place where every person is welcome, including individuals and families living with disability. To support that, we’ve developed a Disability Collective where parents and caregivers support one another. We also host Respite Nights so whole families get a night to breathe. And, every Sunday, we’re working to make this a place where all people are known and loved — because they bear the image of God, and because our church needs what they bring.

If you or your family lives with disability, or if you want to serve alongside them, Tutta would love to chat. You can reach her at tstabler@rccbirmingham.org.

Upcoming Disability Collectives:
The next gathering is this Sunday, September 20, followed by another gathering on November 15. Find more info at http://rccbirmingham.org/collectives

Upcoming Respite Nights:
The next gathering is Friday, October 9, followed by another gathering on December 4. Find more info at http://rccbirmingham.org/events by @rccbirmingham

Sometimes, our pastors bite off more than they can chew in a single sermon, meaning they have to cut some of their better anecdotes or stories. We thought Joel’s nixed opening was worth sharing here, plus it gives us a chance to talk about our new sermon series!

Last Sunday, Joel began “The Gospel According to Daniel” by reminding us that Daniel’s story speaks directly to our life of faith today. Daniel found himself living in Babylon, surrounded by a culture that invited him to find his identity, security, and satisfaction in its values and promises. Yet Daniel’s resolve was rooted in knowing that God, not Babylon, was the main character of his story. Because Daniel rightly saw who God was, he was able to faithfully serve in Babylon without being shaped by it.

You’ll be able to find the entire series on our website at http://rccbirmingham.org/sermons. by @rccbirmingham

Last week’s College kickoff was a beautiful reminder of the gift of gathering together as God’s people. There was something especially sweet about hearing the voices of hundreds of college students singing of our only true hope and beginning a new year together in the Gospel of John.

God is building an incredible community among the college students in Birmingham. We’re thankful for all the Lord has done already this year and excited to see what He will do in the year ahead. by @rccbirmingham

At Redeemer, we long to see our students grow into lifelong disciples of Jesus and to see parents and families strengthened as they disciple their children at home. While we have huge shoes to fill as Connor heads to Rooted and Molly Grace to ELI Thrive, we’re incredibly excited about the next chapter for Redeemer Youth. Now we need your help to find our next Youth Ministry Director!

This full-time role will provide leadership and vision for Redeemer Youth, oversee teaching and gathering rhythms, disciple students, and equip a team of staff and volunteers. They will also help students become fully integrated into the life of our church and partner with parents as they faithfully disciple their children.

If you know someone who might be a good fit, help us spread the word! You can find out more at rccbirmingham.org/jobs. by @rccbirmingham

Last month, our congregation gathered for a Night of Worship, setting aside an evening to slow down and turn our attention toward the Lord.

The start of fall can feel full, hurried, and hectic. In the midst of it all, there is something deeply restful about making space to simply be with God and with one another through singing, Scripture, and prayer. We come to worship with full lives and often strained hearts, carrying burdens, unanswered questions, and prayers we have brought before the Lord for months. Nights like these remind us that we can bring all of it honestly before God, trusting that He meets His people as we seek Him.

May we carry that same posture into our daily lives, slowing down, listening, and delighting in the God who is always faithful to meet us where we are. by @rccbirmingham
