Precisely 3,000 days ago, I acquired a tuba from a shop in Brooklyn—beat to hell, but cheap (as far as tubas go) For a long time, it sat around as a conversation piece.

During covid, I picked it back up and started practicing/taking song requests. The resulting tuba covers, though rough, were warmly received. Post-lockdown, I hesitantly joined a local orchestra, and remembered why I loved playing music so much in the first place.

I now proudly own one of the first 'STP Carpathians' (previously “St. Petersburg”)—a full-size, rotary valve, BB flat tuba that plays like a dream.

Immeasurably grateful for my old horn, but enthusiastic about the future with this new one. Stay tuned for more song requests soon! by @rcdido
