Kennedy 📞. It wanted its campers back ⏰5️⃣.
#Ktown #Egregious #Suredoes

On a real note, I have never been more appreciative or thankful for a place and community in my life. Camp Kennedy is a utopia. It provides a small, intimate, yet immensely impactful home for campers during a never-long-enough 24-day session each summer. I had the privilege of coming here five years ago, when I was about 14 or 15 years old. I’d heard about it ever since my first summer as a camper at age 7. From then on, the countdown began, as I knew I had to get there one day to experience all these incredible stories for myself. Fast forward to August 2021, and I’d just gotten home from what was easily the greatest summer of my life. I never imagined that a place—and the people in it—could change the trajectory of my life the way Camp Kennedy did. I truly would not be the person I am today if it were not for those 19 other campers and six staff members who changed the course of my life forever. Now, in the present day, I’m reflecting on this magical place in bumfuck Munising, Michigan yet again. Only this time, I was able to return the favor. My six closest friends and I came back to close the circle, becoming staff for our own Camp Kennedy session. At this point, I’ve almost used up another entire candle, so I’ll get to it. Campers, if you’re reading this (Probably about a month from now—you all just made it to Specialty), thank you for buying in. Thank you for putting your trust in us. Thank you for waking up every single morning and making the most of each day like it was your last. You all embodied outpost to the fullest extent, and I hope you all get to have your “See you in 5 years” moment down the road. I love you all (appropriately). I know you will all have an amazing time in Specialty (just not as much as at Kennedy). Passing the 🕯️. Until next time, paddles. taken in Das Gift Haus at Munising by @rcr0225
