Had a beautiful ending to 2025.
 Never did I expect that one day I’d finally set foot in Japan.
I’ve travelled to many places, but Japan was never just a place to me. It holds deeper sentiment.
For a long time, it was only a name, somewhere I heard about and wondered if it was even real. It connects to so many of my childhood memories, and I think many of you who grew up in Indonesia in the 90s or early 2000s might feel the same. Japanese anime was MASSIVE back then.

I was ‘that’ kid who was obsessed with manga and anime, dreaming of one day seeing Tokyo. And when I finally arrived, it felt like opening a memory box. The streets, the sunrises, the tiny shops, they all felt strangely familiar, like a neighbourhood I had once visited a long time ago. It brought back a comfort from the past that I can’t quite put into words.

There’s no such thing as a perfect country, of course, but I choose to remember Japan as it is. Or maybe as how I once remembered it, through the eyes of an innocent child.

This trip felt like a healing journey for the little kid in me. And to anyone out there still searching, may you soon find peace for the much younger version of yourself who has made it this far. You are amazing little creatures 🤍 taken in Tokyo, Japan by @rdhbad
