Big news: My book is available! Presenting “A Cappella 101: A Beginner’s Guide to Contemporary A Cappella Singing.” I wrote this with my friends at @hal_leonard for teachers & fans who want to learn more about contemporary #acappella! The text covers things like starting a group, pop vocal technique, arranging, vocal percussion/beatboxing, live and studio sound, virtual choir creation, and more! FYCC — For Your Choral Consideration! 🎶Hello choral directors! As you plan your fall 2026 repertoire, I have some new and exciting things that I would love to put on your radar:✨ “Hine Ma Tov” is now available from Walton Music and has been selected as a J.W. Pepper Editor’s Choice! This new original combines my signature pop-fusion style with hocket textures similar to my piece Echo. If your singers enjoyed Echo, I think they’ll have a lot of fun with this one.🎤 I’m continuing to expand my catalog of original choral works that blend contemporary pop influences with traditional choral writing. If you’re looking for a challenging, high-energy opener or closer - or a way to connect with singers who love pop, contemporary a cappella, show choir, or musical theater - you might find something your choir will enjoy.🎵 My contemporary a cappella library has now grown to 350+ arrangements for ensembles of all sizes and voicings, with 15–20 new charts added each season. Recent additions include a choral-style arrangement of Coldplay’s “All My Love,” along with all of my arrangements featured on the latest OneVoice album.✍️ I also still have limited availability this fall for new commissions! Unser V.O.I.C.E Vienna Pop & Jazz Choir hat „All my love“ als Pflichtstück für den Wettbewerb beim @aarhusvocalfestival performen müssen. Mit diesem besonderen Arrangement von @rdietz55 haben wir sogar den Special Award für das innovativste Arrangement gewonnen - herzlichen Dank nochmal lieber Rob! Und letztes Wochenende haben wir den Song im @wienerkonzerthaus vor unseren Freunden, Familien und Wiener Fans zur Aufführung gebracht! A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of singing in the @ithacappella 30th Anniversary Concert and the honor of being inducted into the group’s Hall of Fame during @ithacacollege Alumni Weekend!Ithacappella was one of the first a cappella groups that sparked my love of vocal music. My middle school choir teacher was one of the group’s founders, and his mentorship played a huge role in helping me fall in love with choral singing.The experiences I had and the friendships I made during my time in the group have shaped my life in countless ways. It was such a joy to reconnect with old friends, share the stage again, and relive some of those incredible memories.Feeling very grateful to be part of the legacy of a group that has meant so much to me over the years! by @rdietz55

@academychoirla Spring Showcase is officially in the books! Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us.This concert felt especially meaningful for a few reasons.First, it is always a joy to work with some of the most talented young singers in LA. These artists have so much going on in their musical lives, and I’m so grateful that they choose to spend a few hours each week singing with us.Second, this venue! One of my favorite things about this ensemble is finding new and creative ways to present choral music. Los Angeles is full of incredible spaces, and it was exciting to perform in a venue that felt every bit as contemporary as our sound.And finally, the debut of our “Grad Choir” made up of @acappellacademy and ACLA alumni and staff. Seeing dear friends, former students, and colleagues from so many different eras of Academy come together was so exciting and fulfilling. The combined choir of both ensembles was really, really special - can’t wait to share video soon. This definitely won’t be the last time we do something like this, so LA singer friends, keep an eye out if you’d like to join us for the next one.👀 Also auditions for next year’s ACLA are already open - if you’re a singer age 12-18 we’d love to have you join us in the fall!📷 @bellamarieadams by @rdietz55

Just a few moments from one of my new top 10 choral directing experiences!@acda_east Contemporary A Cappella Fusion Ensemble - y’all were out of this world. Thank you for your talent, professionalism, and for committing 100% to the process. The honor was truly mine!This group got to work with 4/5 of the composer/arrangers of their set . That’s not an accident - that’s @amandahanzlik working her magic. Amanda, thank you for creating beautiful space at this event for so many different voices, and for entrusting me to debut this new kind of choir on a conference stage!Shoutout to @aokiley and @chaymcadam who kept the whole rehearsal process running smoothly, and to @andycollopy, the best accompanist any a cappella group could ask for. by @rdietz55

Switching it up a bit from our #NACC2026 staff highlights to bring you: OUR FEATURED EDUCATORS 🎶First up: Rob Dietz!Rob Dietz is a multi award-winning singer and vocal percussionist who has been arranging, composing, teaching, and performing contemporary a cappella music for over twenty years. Based in Los Angeles, Rob got his start as an arranger and group coach on NBC’s “The Sing-Off”. His arrangements have been performed by top-tier vocal artists, including Grammy-winning groups Pentatonix and The Swingles, as well as VoicePlay, Kings Return, and many more.He has been a contributing arranger for performances by world renowned artists such as Smokey Robinson, Flo Rida, Sara Bareilles, Incubus, David Archuleta, and Pat Benatar. His work has appeared on a variety of television programs, including America’s Got Talent (NBC), To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You (Netflix), and Pitch Slapped (Lifetime).As a performer, Rob is an internationally recognized vocal percussionist, with credits including Glee (FOX) and The Late Late Show with James Corden. He was the founding vocal percussionist for both The Funx and Level, groups that gave him the opportunity to work with legendary performers including Jay Leno and Demi Lovato.Rob has a deep passion for a cappella education, and is a founding co-director (along with Ben Bram and Avi Kaplan) of A Cappella Academy. In 2016, he launched Legacy, a youth a cappella group in Los Angeles. Under his direction, Legacy experienced a streak of competitive success, winning the Los Angeles A Cappella Festival’s Scholastic Competition, the Southwest semifinal round of the Varsity Vocals A Cappella Open, and the Finals of the International Championship of High School A Cappella at Lincoln Center. In 2023, he transitioned Legacy into Academy Choir: Los Angeles, a larger ensemble blending contemporary a cappella with modern choral music.
