The job market has changed… and people need to understand what that really means.

I’m going to give you the reality…..no fluff.

What used to take 3–4 months to land a role…
is now taking 6 months to a year+.

And it gets tougher as salaries increase:
• 💼 $80K–$100K roles → now taking 6+ months
• 💼 $140K+ roles → taking 8 months to 12–18 months in some cases

That’s the reality of today’s market.

I’ve seen it firsthand with my clients.

Here’s what’s also changing:

A lot of professionals are being forced to pivot careers just to sustain income.

That means resumes can’t just reflect what you’ve done…
They have to translate your experience into new industries, new roles, and new opportunities.

It’s 2023 and we are up and running!

Don’t delay your chances of getting hired any further! It takes an average of 3.5 -4.5 months for private/non-federal roles and it can be anywhere between 3 months to a year for a federal position. Remember when applying, you're always applying for the months ahead!

Listen I’ve been there

I’ve been fired, I’ve been let go and I know exactly what it feels like to apply for jobs and wait.

I pride myself in understanding and knowing the market, knowing the struggles in finding a job and looking for a position.

A few things

✏️ My thoughts, don’t post your resume, post 3-5 successes and the attributes you bring to the organization.

✏️ When you do your job search, focus on keywords of the positions you’re interested in, yes it’s broader and yes you will have to look but it’s better to train your eye, not all jobs are treated equally.

I went into foreclosure in 2018 after being let go by Hilton ( Knowing what I know now, they are lucky I didn’t sue them for disability discrimination). During that time no one believed in my services, Veteran groups, and regular job seekers. I buckled down and believed in myself and put my faith in God as well! I made it through!

This one hits a little different.

This is a repeat client I’ve had the opportunity to help secure multiple federal positions, a state government position, and now a SENIOR-LEVEL FEDERAL IT POSITION! 💻🇺🇸

When I messaged him to congratulate him and asked, “Is this a new one?” his response made my day:

THE OTHER SIDE OF COACHING 💜⚽️

What you see in these pictures is the other side of coaching.

Not one of these young men is over 20 years old.

They just lost a game that meant a lot to them. We went down a man after receiving a red card within the first five minutes, and suddenly everything we prepared for changed.

But they didn’t quit.

They fought. They adjusted. They pushed. They kept believing.

And when it was over, you could see how much it meant to them.

This season, I told my players I wanted DAWGS. 🐕
Not just talented footballers. I wanted players with toughness, heart, resilience, accountability, and a mentality that says:

“No matter what happens, we keep going.”

What I’m watching now is bigger than soccer.

I’m watching a very young group of men mature right in front of me. They’re learning how to compete. How to handle adversity. How to play for each other. And most importantly, they’re finally understanding what it means to truly want it.

People forget that Select was once 0–5. Everybody had an opinion then.

We kept working.

Now, I can confidently say this is one of the best groups I’ve assembled in years, not simply because of their talent, but because of who they are becoming.

Our job isn’t just to win games.

Our job is to develop these young men and get them to the next level.

These pictures hurt to look at because I know how badly they wanted it. But as a coach, they also make me proud.

Sometimes growth looks like winning.

Sometimes growth looks exactly like this.

Keep your heads up. Keep working. Keep pushing, young ballers. Your story is still being written. 💜💛
