„Beyond the Coast“, 2024

This is a compilation of the first playable version of our video game, featuring the level „The Beach,“ which we had the opportunity to showcase at the @playbern_gamesundkultur festival.
The goal is to solve puzzles in a point-and-click style with a main character, while collecting characters from the aquatic universe. These characters help you progress further through the level with their unique abilities and also unlock new habitats of the underwater world.
The basic idea for this game emerged from a trip to Japan with Ruven Stettler @2001_2017_2020 and the resulting collection of collectibles, @beyond_the_coast_ . While Ruven Stettler and I were responsible for the visual identity of the video game (2D, as well as 3D by Ruven), game designer Dominik Stettler contributed his expertise to help shape a meaningful mechanic.
The wonderful music by @rea.ae Rea Dubach, composed of analog instruments as well as her voice, gives the whole project a truly unique, magical touch and is also a central part of the puzzle itself.
Thanks to programmer Sylvan Spycher and his practical skills, speed, and understanding of what matters most, the game was ultimately able to be realized for the festival.

After much deliberation, numerous discussions, and drafts, we concluded that the game concept needs to be reconsidered for various reasons.
More on that to follow 🫧🪸

A Pro Helvetia é nossa principal parceira nessa trajetória, fortalecendo essas trocas, apoiando a programação e tornando esses encontros possíveis 🇨🇭🇧🇷❤️

Rea Dubach é cantora, guitarrista, compositora e produtora.
