Someone recently sent me a DM saying: "𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘴𝘰 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘐 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦... 𝘪𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦."
A high school student also asked me how to keep the fire burning when you feel lonely in your dream. I told her what I wish I’d known back then: 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘣𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶.

Those messages brought me right back to the girl lying on the floor with an atlas in front of her.

Swipe through for a letter to her. 💌

To anyone looking at a far-off dream right now thinking it's meant for someone else: space isn't an exclusive club, and your perspective belongs here. It’s not just possible-it is very, very possible. 🌍🚀✨

Normal me → zero-G me. 🪐

Some outfit changes hit different when the new outfit is a flight suit. ✨

Where is Africa in the global space race? 🛰️🌍

With over 15,000 satellites orbiting Earth, African nations are actively shaping their presence in space - from communications to real-time climate tracking.
🇪🇬 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟴: Egypt launches Africa's first satellite into orbit.
🇿🇦 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟵: South Africa builds the continent's first satellite locally on home soil.
🇳🇬 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟭: Nigerian engineers design and construct NigeriaSat-X in-house.
🇰🇪 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯: Kenya launches Taifa-1, delivering operational Earth Observation data directly for our agriculture and disaster management.

Space technology isn't millions of miles away - it’s actively serving our communities right here. 🇰🇪✨

Today, the sun sits directly above the equator - and for one day, day and night are almost perfectly equal, everywhere on the planet at once.🌗

Doesn't matter where you are or what your sky usually looks like - today, everyone's getting roughly the same balance of light and dark.

Happy equinox 🌌

𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘂𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿? 🌌

Gravity doesn’t just stop working the moment you leave Earth’s atmosphere! At the altitude of the International Space Station, Earth’s gravity is still at about 𝟵𝟬% of what we feel on the ground.
So why do they float? Because they’re traveling forward at roughly 17,500 mph (28,000 km/h) - falling toward the Earth, but moving so fast sideways that the curve of the Earth drops away beneath them. They are in continuous, permanent freefall.

Space is closer, weirder, and way more accessible than we think.

Words really don't do it justice! 🚀✨ You just have to feel gravity leave the room to understand.

There's a planet 63 light-years away where it rains glass. Sideways. At 4,500 mph. 🌌

Space is full of stories like this - wild, specific, almost impossible to believe. And they're not locked away for scientists only. They're for you too.

Follow REACHABLE for more of the universe's best-kept secrets. ✨

Turns out zero gravity does not come with a tutorial. 😅

Landed the backflip. Did NOT land the "sit on the ceiling with @astro_jfclervoy " attempt, but 10/10 would embarrass myself in front of a Zero-G legend again.

This is what learning to float actually looks like. 🚀

Whoever floats with astronauts is an astronaut. I'm still trying to believe that includes me.

I'm Susan, a geospatial technologist from Nairobi who fell in love with space by looking down at a map, long before I ever looked up at the stars. A few days ago, I had the flight experience of a lifetime with Space for Humanity - a parabolic Zero-G flight, floating through Martian gravity, Lunar gravity, and true weightlessness, 15 times over.

Thank you, @spacehumanity, for an experience I'll spend a long time trying to fully put into words.

Science isn't complete until it's communicated. Consider this me, getting started. 🇰🇪✨
