Study stress is so TOUGH - constant pressure and anxiety, but also demotivation as well. Oh and why not throw in some negative thought patterns too 😭

It is A LOT. If you need support to feel better while studying, ReachOut can be the first step. ❤️ by @reachout_aus

It might not seem like much but doing something small for yourself everyday, that helps you recharge and lift your mood, can help prevent you from crashing and burning out in the long run. Each small daily action is like a layer that builds to protect you whenever things get really tough.

This year’s theme for mental health month is Together We Thrive. Whenever life feels overwhelming, connection remains one of the most powerful ways to support our wellbeing. Yet new data from @aumentalhealth reports that one in five Gen Zs (20%) say they have no friends or family they can count on when they need support, and one in three Gen Zs (32%) feel either not very connected or not connected at all to friends, family, neighbours and their community.

When we come together – through small, everyday moments of care, kindness, conversation and connection – we can help each other to truly thrive.

Our volunteers have collaborated with @aumentalhealth on a calendar full of ideas on how to practice self-care, stay connected or make new connections throughout the course of mental health month and beyond.

You could be able to opt out of the algorithm on your social media feeds in the future. It’s one way that you’ll be able reduce the amount of harmful content you’re exposed to and look after your wellbeing online. When the world feels overwhelming, your emotions can sometimes make everything feel urgent or out of control. You may swing between wanting to act and feeling like you can’t do anything at all. These reactions are normal, but they might leave you feeling pretty helpless, disconnected, or unsure about what to do next.

That’s when your values can act like an internal compass. These are your core beliefs about what matters to you and how you show up for yourself and others. 🧭💜🫂

Sometimes all it takes is one conversation.

While you might not say exactly the right thing each time you check in with a friend, it’s better than saying nothing, especially if they seem to be going through a tough time.

There’s still a huge misconception that talking about suicide can increase the risk and harm for those in distress. The reality is, asking someone directly if they’re feeling suicidal or thinking about ending their life, will not put them at further risk. Experts agree that many people who are suicidal generally do want to talk about what’s on their mind, even though they might struggle to start the conversation.

You don’t need to have the perfect advice or an instant solution. Just starting a chat, asking direct questions, actively listening and letting them talk, can sometimes be the first step to getting the support they need. 💛

You have a beach body or a gym body no matter what you look like. 🪞🏖️🏋️

Life isn’t about being a certain aesthetic or checking boxes on someone else’s list. It’s about showing up as you are, having fun and spending time with people you care about.

It’s a stressful time for the Nepalese community and anyone else following the unfolding news from here in Australia.

While it might be tough to deal with for quite some time, here are five things you can do to keep looking after yourself and stay equipped for handling this difficult time:
- Try to keep a routine.
- Lean on your community.
- Stick to reputable news sources (and limit how much time you spend on the news)
- Set some boundaries for when you don’t feel like talking about it.
- Get support from your community or religious leaders, or a professional support service. Text reads, "Looking after yourself when a disaster overseas impacts your community." by @reachout_aus
