If you’ve ever had to translate for a family member, you’ll probably relate to este 𝓁𝒾𝒷𝓇𝑜!

When Tío Ricky comes to visit, his nephew finds himself translating everywhere they go. And he’s not exactly happy about it! But when an unexpected medical emergency arises, he doesn’t hesitate to help because, at the end of the day, that’s what 𝒻𝒶𝓂𝒾𝓁𝒾𝒶𝓈 do.

A sweet reminder that being bilingual is such a wonderful skill to have, even when it feels like 𝓉𝓇𝒶𝒷𝒶𝒿𝑜!

Our senses are powerful things. It’s amazing what a familiar sound or 𝓊𝓃𝒶 𝒸𝒶𝓃𝒸𝒾ó𝓃 can do for our spirits! 𝐸𝓃 𝑒𝓈𝓉𝑒 𝒸𝓊𝑒𝓃𝓉𝑜, sounds play a major role in bringing back special memories, offering comfort through stormy seasons, and inspiring Pedrito to press on.
Pedrito misses his 𝓅𝒶𝓅𝒾 and has endured a devastating 𝒽𝓊𝓇𝒶𝒸á𝓃. When his spirits are low, a familiar song, once played by his papi and now by his 𝒽𝑒𝓇𝓂𝒶𝓃𝑜, brings him hope.
A beautiful 𝒸𝓊𝑒𝓃𝓉𝑜 about the power of music, the memories we hold dear, and finding hope even in the hardest of times. But there’s something else bringing Pedrito joy amid the devastation: a little 𝓅𝑒𝓇𝓇𝒾𝓉𝑜 he rescues from the rubble. Will he get to keep his new 𝒶𝓂𝒾𝑔𝑜?

It has been my experience that devastation brings people together. We saw that as a nation after 9/11, and I saw that unity firsthand 𝒹𝑒𝓈𝒹𝑒 𝓊𝓃𝒶 𝓃𝒾ñ𝒶 within my own community after devastating hurricanes.

In 2017, Puerto Rico was hit by Hurricane Maria. The loss and devastation were great, but in the aftermath, 𝓁𝒶 𝑔𝑒𝓃𝓉𝑒 came together to help one another.

In San Juan, a beloved landmark and staple of the community, the banyan tree, 𝑒𝓁 𝒿𝒶𝑔ü𝑒𝓎 𝒷𝓁𝒶𝓃𝒸𝑜, was uprooted by 𝓁𝒶 𝓉𝑜𝓇𝓂𝑒𝓃𝓉𝒶. Even in the midst of their own loss, members of the community rallied together around something that had stood alongside them for generations, working to save their beloved tree.

Este 𝓁𝒾𝒷𝓇𝑜 tells the true story of 𝑒𝓁 𝒿𝒶𝑔ü𝑒𝓎 𝒷𝓁𝒶𝓃𝒸𝑜 and the people who refused to give up on it. A beautiful 𝒸𝓊𝑒𝓃𝓉𝑜 about comunidad, persevering through hard times, and the resilience that grows when 𝓁𝒶 𝑔𝑒𝓃𝓉𝑒 comes together.

Shout out to @miamidadepubliclibrary in @keybiscayne at @villageofkeybiscayne . Their main location is under construction 𝓅𝑒𝓇𝑜 they’re currently have the cutest little spot to share their 𝓁𝒾𝒷𝓇𝑜𝓈 until it’s up and running again. 𝒬𝓊𝑒 cute, 𝓃𝑜?? It was so teeny tiny but it had a decent selection and of course they still offers holds for whatever isn’t available in their space.

If it wasn’t evident before - 𝓂𝑒 𝑒𝓃𝒸𝒶𝓃𝓉𝒶 Spanglish 𝓁𝒾𝒷𝓇𝑜𝓈. It brings me so much 𝒶𝓁𝑒𝑔𝓇í𝒶 to have had a small part in sharing estos 𝓁𝒾𝒷𝓇𝑜𝓈 𝒸𝑜𝓃 𝓂𝒾 𝒸𝑜𝓂𝓊𝓃𝒾𝒹𝒶𝒹. I show up online 𝓅𝒶𝓇𝒶 𝓊𝓈𝓉𝑒𝒹𝑒𝓈, but there’s something 𝑒𝓈𝓅𝑒𝒸𝒾𝒶𝓁 about directly impacting the community you live in, ¿𝓃𝑜?

In the busyness of prepping for an incoming 𝒽𝓊𝓇𝒶𝒸á𝓃, Lupita finds baby pigeons, aka 𝓅𝒶𝓁𝑜𝓂𝒾𝓉𝒶𝓈, 𝓅𝑒𝓇𝒹𝒾𝒹𝒶𝓈 and vulnerable. ¡𝒫í𝑜 𝓅í𝑜!

The 𝓅𝒶𝓁𝑜𝓂𝒾𝓉𝒶𝓈 are lucky she found them just in time. And Lupita is lucky to keep distracted 𝓎 𝑜𝒸𝓊𝓅𝒶𝒹𝒶 caring for 𝓁𝒶𝓈 𝓅𝒶𝓁𝑜𝓂𝒾𝓉𝒶𝓈 during the scary 𝓉𝑜𝓇𝓂𝑒𝓃𝓉𝒶.

After experiencing a scary 𝓉𝑜𝓇𝓂𝑒𝓃𝓉𝒶, 𝓊𝓃 𝒽𝓊𝓇𝒶𝒸𝒶𝓃, to be specific, Antonio and his sister try to get back to their normal lives, 𝓅𝑒𝓇𝑜 something has changed. With a temporary new blue roof and a lot of imagination, they find a way to weather the storm and its effects; 𝒿𝓊𝓃𝓉𝑜𝓈.
