Finished Lightbringer...and it only took 2 months. Sad to say my journey with this series has reached its end for now.

Never have I taken so long with a single book, but honestly, I didn't want this series to end. In between chapters of Lightbringer I would read the entirety of other books, binged a whole TV show, did puzzles, you name it, just to drag this out as long as possible. Each night, reading a couple pages before bed was the best, and maybe a somewhat torturous way, to end my evening. Lightbringer was emotional in ways the others weren't (yet I've shed a tear in most of them) and I finally felt that I got the Darrow I'd been wanting.

I feel at this point there is little need to review this book or series in a detailed, recap kind of way. If you've read this series and liked it, you know what a lasting impact these characters and so many moments have on you. If you've been wanting to read this series, don't wait any longer. Trust that this series is hyped for a reason. I can hardly stand the thought of waiting for Red God after all that's transpired.

Ｒｅｖｉｅｗ | Empire of the Dawn by @misterkristoff

Book 3 in the trilogy | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It took me a week to put some type of thought together as I processed everything. Five stars doesn't even cover it.

What an insane, action packed, gut wrenching, mind blowing finale. Out of every element I loved, and believe me, there are many, Kristoff's ability to so seamlessly tell a story, within a story, within a story is perfection to me. To be so effortlessly transported through multiple POVs and layers of storytelling in one page of text, and be able to distinctively feel the emotions of each character involved, provides unmatched mental stimulation. Nothing beats chuckling at a witty comment while simultaneously sobbing at the death of a character.

Since this trilogy has rapidly become a favourite of mine, it's no surprise that Gabriel de Leon has officially been cemented as one of my favourite characters of all time. This is a no spoiler review so I won't say much more, but I truly can't wait to go back and experience his tale all over again.

And while Gabriel may be my favourite, there is no shortage of remaining characters that I loved. It's actually impossible to decide who could fill those top spots because I was, and still am, so emotionally attached to the majority of them. Everyone from Celene, to Aaron, or an insignificant general in the army had a flushed out history and character arc that breathed life into the plot. I never wanted this story to end and can confirm I will be pushing these books onto every person I come across. by @read_withlexi

🔥 Currently reading 🔥

I'm loving the dual POV so far and how many big moments have already happened within the first 20% of the book. However, I won't lie that I'm also nervous to see how the middle chunk of this one plays out. I've seen many mixed reviews and I can already see a potential miscommunication trope coming.....
Fingers crossed it's bearable and the ending is a satisfying one.

Doing my ACOTAR relisten and remembering how much I love this world 🤍

This is my 4th or 5th time reading/listening to this series and every time it gives me those warm and fuzzy comfort feelings, and reminds me of why I fell back in love with reading and magic.
