What a week.
Thanks to my mumma (and dad🤭) for this beautiful gift. A T2 wizard of oz teapot, cup and teas (with a fave Melbourne breakfast!). It also includea a beautiful paperback of the original Wizard of Oz story - I hope you all know Dorothy's slippers were actually silver.

For a grown up read, check out 'Finding Dorothy' by Elizabeth Letts. Wonderful fiction with lots of research and history sprinkled throughout. by @readalongwithruby

Ooof. Those new book feels.
I gasped with delight when @lamontstandingorder walked into the Library with this beauty for us yesterday. Roger said he knew and was excited that's why it was at the top of the book box 🥰
To finally hold it and pour over every page was incredible. I had tears in my eyes.
The youngest of readers will meet Roz and Brightbill.. and as they grow they'll then have three more beautiful Roz+BB adventures to delight in.
Older readers that have met Roz and Brightbill are welcomed back with wonder and a warm hug.

Thank you @peterbrownstudio for making the world richer and kinder with your words and illustrations.

My kid's drawing of Roz & Brightbill 🥰

Such beautiful moments shared together reading through all 3 books over the years.
I've loved getting to revisit Roz and brightbill with all my library kids.

Chunked into perfect-size chapter breaks, encouragement for even the most hesitant of readers. Helpful to know when a pause is coming for the too-tired grown-up, or a place to rest and revisit later when the reader has to go to bed.

Preorder @peterbrownstudio 'The Wild Robot on the Island' picture book today. Releases here in Australia June 24.

When one of your fave 2024 reads is on the Children's Book Council of Australia ACT Branch notables list AND it's $7 you buy multiple copies for gifts because it's just THAT good.

@Juderossell is a wonderful human and such treasure.

Of course support your indy bookstores always, but don't pass up a chance to get a really great book into the hands of your little people.
An adventurous read aloud for 5+, as well as a perfect for independent readers 8+ through to 800 years old

#Bookweek done for 2023!
Rounded it out with a Ruby Red Shoes goes to London by the delightful @missrubyredshoes Australia's own Kate Knapp.

I hope kids all around Australia were introduced to some really great books this week by passionate people working in all different roles across our schools, libraries, homes and beyond.

Please remember your library staff at Christmas time and pop them on your Christmas card list - they do so much work and are often overlooked. by @readalongwithruby

Day 2 of #BookWeek and today I'm the butterfly from @officialericcarle 'the very hungry caterpillar'.

I enjoyed telling the students all day about the wonder of butterflies and the natural pollinators they are.

Plant lots of welcoming blooms this spring for our bees and butterflies 🦋 by @readalongwithruby

Just me living my best #kidlit life and spending an hour with one of my heros @katrina_nannestad

What an absolute delight she was. Sharing how she crafts some of her stories, her inspirations .. it was a tiny peek into her beautiful soul and we are all better for it.

Ahhh the wonderful world of books.
