Stared of good. But in the end it really is far fetched. Who immediately thinks of murder when the floorplan of a house is weird and there are possibly hidden rooms.
Also the loose ends about Keito, Yoshie (was she the mol?) and the author of the letter (Keito?), it makes you think, yes. But in the end I had expected more/a different ending. Even though I went in blind and had zero expectations. But as the story progressed my expectations grew.
The first half was better than the second half

Enjoyed the book. It could’ve had more depth, the ending was flat and felt rushed. Not everything was explained enough or had a proper end. Like what about the manuscript?? In a freaking fault?? What about Henry’s phd?
Well we found out the grandmother was adopted and turned out to be opalines daughter but a little more depth would’ve been nice.
It could’ve been 4 stars but because the ending was lacking in giving it 3,5

Up till 85% ish it’s was quite mwah. Not great, very slow. It’s typical ya book.
Finny’s death surprised/shocked me.
I guess the second book is about his pov, which I’m curious about. But before is was 50% in I was close to dnf’ing the book and not even curious about the sequel
