This week has been a very busy one!! 😅

I have managed to read two books this week on my kindle and on audiobooks whilst doing my cardio, but typical me hasn’t taken any photos!! I have read Witchcraft for Wayward Girls and I Who Have Never Known Men. I will post a review of both shortly 🫶🏼✨

A photo I did capture this week is of me and my fiancé after we’d just booked our wedding on Friday!! We are so excited and cannot wait to properly start planning now! 💒

What have you all been up to this week? What have you read / reading currently? 🥰✨ by @readbychelsx

This week I had my Book and Pudding Club 🍰 📖

Our September read was The Chemist by A.A.Dhand 👨‍⚕️🩸

This read sparked much discussion with all of us, a lot that we agreed on, points that we didn’t but overall a deep discussion that went in many directions 💭

It is centred around the protagonist Idris, who is a pharmacist, and the pillar of the community. He distributes methadone to hundreds of addicts within the area. So when his childhood sweetheart doesn’t turn up for her methadone, he investigates and things get a little difficult shall we say…
Idris finds himself in a war between the two most powerful drug cartels in Yorkshire. He must use every bit of his intelligence and cunningness to keep those who he loves safe.

I enjoyed this read, it’s got very short chapters which makes the reading fun and quick! I’m debating whether to read the sequel to it!
Have you read this? What did you think? 💭

I love the last Wednesday of the month, delicious pudding, great people and good discussions 🫶🏼🥰🤍✨ by @readbychelsx

Happy Sunday everyone!! 🫶🏼💗

How’s your week been?!
This week’s post I thought I’d share all of the amazing bookish gifts I received for my birthday! 🎁 🎈💗

- Starting off with such a beautiful card from my special friend @thebookishbrunettee 💗. If anyone knows me they know my love language is gift giving, so when I received this I thought it was perfect!! 🥰
- My fiancé knows how much I love a good jigsaw puzzle, and he chose this gorgeous Grimms’ Fairy Tales one from Waterstones for me! I’m so excited to start this - I do think it’s going to be hard though😅
- I was kindly gifted The Eights by Joanna Miller, by a lovely friend of mine. I started this the day after my birthday, in the right fashion with a cup of tea and lemon drizzle cake 🍋
- On my birthday, we took a trip to Birmingham as we were watching Mrs Doubtfire at The Hippodrome, so I chanced my luck to see if Waterstones had an exclusive copy of Runebreaker. And yes they did!! I was SO excited to get my hands on this. Kindly gifted by my dad, as we tried my closest Waterstones branch on release day and they were all sold out. But, I managed to find it in Birmingham Waterstones🤩🤩
- The haul from The Spicy Librarian!! Can’t wait to get round to all of these😍 @thespicylibrarianuk If you’ve not yet been to this bookstore then you NEED to go!!
- I also got gifted 2 pairs of bookish pyjamas and they’re both so lovely! Super soft and ready for autumn🫶🏼🥰
- I also received some Waterstones vouchers… what do you suggest I get with them?! 💭

Always so grateful for all the effort that goes into my birthday, and it’s even better when it’s book related🫶🏼🫶🏼💗
Thank you to each and every one of you who messaged me with well wishes and continue to support my page! 🥰💛 by @readbychelsx

Hey lovely people!! I hope you’ve all had a great week and are enjoying the Bank Holiday Weekend! ✨

This week we had our monthly meet at @stourbridge.bookandpuddingclub .
August’s read was The Road to Tender Hearts by Annie Hartnett. The book received mixed ratings but nothing below a 3 ⭐!

The book follows the character of PJ Halliday, a lottery winner, who you think should be so happy, however his hometown is a reminder of the child he lost and his failed marriage.

The story follows a road trip whereby PJ becomes the guardian of an estranged family members children, Ollie and Luna, and his own adult daughter Sophie gets tagged along too. The story explores the themes of loss, grief, and redemption. And there’s one surprise passenger we cannot forget - Pancakes!
Pancakes, a cat who has a power to predict death, is a huge part of this story, and one who you grow fond of 🐱

This book created a good discussion and it’s always great to hear everyone else’s opinions on the same book. I love how reading brings about so many different reflections and interpretations, ones that I wouldn’t have thought of!

Have you read this? What did you think?! 💭💗 by @readbychelsx

Happy Sunday lovelies💗 I hope you’ve all had a great week!

Here’s my what this week(end), had a busy working week so didn’t take many photos, but I’m sure you’ll agree with me, the weekend made up for it!

Friday afternoon kicked off with a gorgeous afternoon tea, that was Bridgerton themed. Everything was so yummy and the best time was had! @han_evans99

Saturday morning started with a gym session and then a chilled afternoon reading Our Perfect Storm by Carley Fortune. I’m about half way through now and I’m enjoying this. It’s an easy read, nothing too heavy, looking forward to finishing it. I also got some gorgeous yellow roses 💛 which were a steal at only £2.69!!

Then I made a couple of my gorgeous tote bags in the colours maroon and olive 🫶🏼. I loved these so much that I even took my “Books Spicy” Olive Green tote out for the day 💚🫶🏼 @bookishhhome

Sunday afternoon was spent with my dad at The Hawthorns for Albion’s first home match of the season. Even better that we got a great result!! 💙🤍

Now I plan to do the work meal preps for the week, make a wholesome Sunday dinner and hopefully settle down with my book this evening! 🥰🫶🏼 It’s been a lovely week!
