Two new additions to my God Tier Reads list 🖤 Society of Villains @authorljshen

This week, I have been completely consumed by this series, when I say that every second of my spare time has been spent reading im not even over exaggerating! This series had me locked innnn and wasn’t letting me out until I was finished with it. 🔐

LJ Shen has created a world i am utterly obsessed with, the way that her plots are written in this series is so chaotic but for someone who struggles to keep invested in books, this made it so easy, i think the easiest it’s ever been for me to binge a series? It did not feeling like reading, the world set up and every single character felt so real!

Bad Bishop - i heard a lot of people say that Tiernan has so many red flags? I only saw lots of pink 🤭. His character won me over so quick in this book it’s actually not even funny, a few chapters and I was like okay sold i love him x he’s so funny & has the driest of humours that it just worked so well with me as a reader. Really loved Lila too, so fun and empowering reading her back story to present! I actually thought Tiernan was really cute 😭.

Twisted Pawn - Six Stars, God Tier, Favourite Book EVER! The way that Achilles had my stomach churning and rolling over with his yearning actually needs to be studied because oh my god i have never read a better yearner, the pain as a reader was physical. I loved every single second of this book. Their back story made their present so much higher stakes, if you want to read a story about two people who are tied at the soul? Twisted Pawn is for you! Achilles Ferrante is now my number 1 MMC ever written… it was that good 🥺🖤 Tierney and Achilles are sooooo Harley Quinn & The Joker coded. I need to reread them already!! 😩

The plots, the family and found family, the setting, it was all amazing and i had the best time reading this. The humor in these books had me laughing out loud, it’s literally unbeatable. I can’t bloody wait for Luca’s book!!! Redemption arc in FRook? secured! i now love him again hahaha🤭

weekly reading recap 🤎🧸🌙

honestly cannot believe the reading week I’ve had, it has been AMAZING! i dnf’d a book on monday last week, then off of the back of that i finally gave in to my temptation of rereading corrupt for the third time, then it all went up from there 🙈

corrupt has been talked about a million times on my page, so let’s skip to the newness: Midnight Curfew. HOOKED is the word I’d used to describe me reading this book, i loved everything about it but christ does Penelope Douglas how to write crazy tension. i fully sat for four whole hours, no phone (as a phone addict this is kinda crazy) and binged the last four hours of this book. your honor, i luv them BAD xx

now for my favourite: I GAVE FIVE BROTHERS SIX STARS!!! you probably heard my pterodactyl screech when I finished this book from when you live, please don’t be alarmed, I just found a new six star read. from previously dnf’ing this book twice, safe to say I was absolutely shocked at how much I adored this book. i truly could read about the Jaeger family all day, every day. Macon, is my favourite PD mmc written to date and had me on the verge of tears. I want to be a Jaeger and live in the bay, where does one sign up? I already cannot wait to reread this book and i am BEGGING on my knees for more of the brothers books. Pls pls PLSSSSS give this book a go, if you have similar taste to me i have no doubt you’ll love it 🖤

A 5 star recommendation 🌆🫂📑🧋

I picked this book up randomly on Sunday morning, read 17 pages and put it down, I just KNEW this was going to be a good one so I forced myself to savour this book, and my theory was correct because this was such an easy 5 star! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Elle, the FMC is an anonymous screenwriter who has already made it big but refuses to present herself to the public so that she can continue to write stories that express her own thoughts and emotion rather than having to speak to her friends and family about those emotions. Elle has become a soul character of mine, I related to her so much in so many different ways, the introverted personality, the way she used routine and her daily life as a comfort blanket and just feared anything outside of those walls despite the fact that something amazing was waiting for her outside of the realm she kept herself in.
Despite this being written in single POV, we got so much of Parker’s feelings through actions. So if you love the love language of ‘Acts Of Service’ this one is for you!!! Parker is a billionaire, but he wasn’t the flashy, cringey kind, he literally would use every single penny of his bank account just to make the FMC happy.

The story is about Elle needing inspiration for an upcoming movie deadline & needing a partner to get out of her self inflicted walls so that she could explore NYC so that she can experience things that she would like to include in her movie. Elle sees NYC in a bad light after many bad past events in her life revolve around those streets, but Parker delivers in repainting those memories for and with her, and does he bloody deliver.

Throw in abit of fake dating and a 5 star read was created!!
The banter had me giggling, his gifts to her and words of affirmation had me in awe and their past events had my heart aching for them.
The writing style often reminded me of Emily Henry and Abby Jimenez mixed together, so if you love those definitely give this one a go!

⚾️ Happy In Her Own League Release Day! ⚾️

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- if you’re wondering, yes the book came out today and I absolutely did devour it in the middle of the night - dedication 💅

I’m going to keep my review spoiler free and as short & sweet as a rambler like me possibly can when talking about one of her favourite fictional families to ever be written.

This was absolutely incredible. From start to finish I was hooked and engaged in the writing, the plot and most importantly the characters.
Emmett - I was in shock for about 50% of this book at how forward he was, the amount of times my jaw dropped from what he was saying!! 🤣 I was literally giggling, my pterodactyl screech was probably heard all the way in Chicago. We now know where his daughter got it from 🤣. I loved his character so so so much.
Reese was such a baddie, all of us women should aspire to be like her because wow love her!!
I loved the dynamic in their relationship! They were so funny, I honestly spent 90% of this book just laughing at their dialogue, I could have read them talking all day. This book genuinely made me so happy.
They really were so well suited, as well as thought out as written characters.

The part I was looking forward to the most when this book was announced was seeing Emmetts view on raising Miller, I can confirm it did make me cry!!! This daughter- dad duo will not be beat! And seeing Monty be a father figure to Kai and Isaiah, plus Monty’s inner thoughts about them and max had me teary!!! I literally love this fictional family SO MUCH. Miller’s unfiltered mouth also makes so many hilarious appearances in this book, I was literally crying with laughter over her 🤣.

Liz never fails to bring the most amazing found family, the humor and whit as well as the setting but what I love the most is that Liz includes all of that as well as adding so much depth to the characters, everything you could possibly want in a romance book, was within these pages! I’ll think about this book for a very long time 🧡⚾️🧡

A series I am too scared to finish 🥹❤️‍🩹☘️

This song literally screams K13, S6/R6 to me - OUCH ❤️‍🩹🥲

I have the deepest love for BOT, the first four books specifically are some of my favourite books I have ever read but I just can’t bring myself to continue onto Releasing 10!! I know the writing will be amazing, but as a Lizzie LOVER, I am too weary of the imminent heartbreak this book is going to cause me. I feel like Lizzie & Hughie will end up being my second favourites (ofc no fictional BOT pairing will rival Joey & Aofie) and maybe that’s also why I am so scared to read it just yet?!

My plans for reading R10, are to wait until the next book gets announced so that I can bash that heartbreak out all in one go, because there’s no worse feeling as a reader than longing for that HEA without a release date in sight! 🤭

February Reads 💌

Books started + completed: 1️⃣9️⃣

Firstly, i want to talk about my favourites of this month! I started the month by pushing myself way out of my comfort zone with reading ‘To Cage a Wild Bird’ which was my first ever ‘Dystopian’ read! I absolutely LOVED it. It had my adrenaline going so much, i finished this one within one sitting, it had me so hooked.

Then we have two of my favourite authors - @charityferrell + @authorpaisleyhope - providing me with two of my favourite reads this month.
‘Dove’ had me in tears, did i expect Sean’s character to make me cry so much? Not at all! I went into this expecting the insta love/lust vibes that the couple gave out in ‘Wolf.E’ but ended up coming across a way deeper story. The way that the MMC has his whole reasoning of knowing that he’d found his soulmate in Layla was written amazingly, it was as if his life in the military and his life now all lead to her. I really loved this book and already cannot wait to reread.
My other favourite of this month was ‘Sinful Hearts’. We already know im going to eat up any mafia book that Charity writes, this one was no exception to that statement. Liliya & Emilio were so fun to read.

During my Chestnut Springs reread, I really noticed how much my reading tastes from 2023 to 2026 have changed! This was a fun reread that actually ended up feeling like an experiment on those reading tastes. I ended up rating ‘Flawless’ the highest?!?! Summer & Rhett fully captured me within this reread and I was utterly consumed by their love story. The tension, banter and plot was so entertaining to read and I feel like this time around I really loved both of their characters and character development. In February 2023, I rated the book 3 stars so a major improvement this time around!
Next month, I want to really focus on slowing down my reads and enjoying every second of them (which definitely means working on my attention span lol) I would really like to only aim for 8 books in March.
